"Humanitarian address" - spreading humanistic values

Vice President of the Tien Giang Provincial Red Cross Society (RCS) Dang Thi Thu Uyen shared: “Based on the criteria of “ĐCNĐ”, the Red Cross at all levels in the province have conducted surveys and created profiles of people in especially difficult circumstances who need assistance, including: poor households, orphans, lonely elderly people, single people, victims of Agent Orange, and people with disabilities”.

In addition, to introduce "ĐCNĐ" to organizations, individuals and businesses, the Association promotes propaganda work in many diverse and rich forms such as: Propaganda on media, social networking sites, Facebook, Fanpage.

From there, creating a sustainable connection between organizations, individuals, and benefactors with the "Red Cross". With many creative ways, in the past 5 years, the Red Cross Association at all levels in the province has contributed to creating more resources for the local campaign to support 1,733,924 people, with a value of over 11 billion VND.

In order for the movement to have an increasingly strong influence, the Association at all levels has actively mobilized cadres and members to be exemplary and proactive in taking the lead in helping disadvantaged people. At the same time, various forms of assistance have been diversified, suitable and practical, linked to the needs of each specific subject such as: Support for food and essential items to ensure monthly living; humanitarian medical examination and treatment; building new and repairing houses; supporting bicycles and wheelchairs; awarding scholarships, etc.

It is noteworthy that many localities have creative and effective actions and methods of mobilization, becoming bright spots for the movement. Typically, the Red Cross Society of My Tho City has been providing assistance to 65,562 beneficiaries in 2024.

President of the Red Cross Society of My Tho City Trinh Thu Phuong said that in order to help more locations, in the coming time, the Red Cross Society at all levels will continue to disseminate to cadres, members, and people about the purpose and significance of the campaign and link the campaign with the emulation movements of the Society and the locality as well as use it as a criterion for year-end emulation for the Society's bases.

Along with that, the Red Cross Society of My Tho City also regularly surveys and grasps the needs of each target group to develop appropriate assistance plans; at the same time, mobilizes and calls on organizations and individuals to support the campaign to have a sustainable source of funding to effectively assist the poor and disadvantaged.

Huynh Ngoc Tham (born in 2008) in Ward 6, My Tho City, is a “ĐCNĐ” who said that her mother used to sell lottery tickets, but now has cancer and is no longer able to work. Her family lives on subsidies from the ward and support from the school. In particular, thanks to the attention, visits and encouragement from all levels of the Red Cross Society, the life of the mother and child is less difficult.

Promoting the core role in humanitarian activities, in the coming time, the Red Cross Association at all levels will continue to widely and effectively deploy the movement "Each organization, each individual is associated with a Red Cross Society" in agencies, schools, businesses, and residential areas; promote and update "Red Cross Society" on the system, connect social networks, Facebook... to increase "Red Cross Society" receiving assistance. At the same time, continue to mobilize the strength of the whole society to spread humanitarian work to every home, every person, associated with each specific, practical and meaningful action.
