Advanced new rural construction in Phu Loc

With the premise of the commune meeting new rural standards (NTM) since 2018, over the past time, the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Loc commune have always strived to maintain and improve the quality of the achieved criteria, aiming to build Phu Loc into an advanced NTM commune.

Comrade Nguyen Tien Son - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: "From a deep understanding of the viewpoints and policies on directing the construction of new rural areas of the Central Government, the province, the district, the Party Committee, the People's Committee, and the Steering Committee for the construction of new rural areas of Phu Loc commune determined that the construction of new rural areas is a continuous and regular task, the responsibility of the Party Committee, the government and all the people".

In 2018, Phu Loc was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting the new rural standards. Not satisfied with the results achieved, the Party Committee, the government, mass organizations and 12 residential areas immediately started each specific task, aiming at the goal of building an advanced new rural area by 2024. To complete the set goals, the Party Executive Committee of the commune issued a specialized resolution on building an advanced new rural area; the People's Committee of the commune developed an implementation plan, assigned cadres and civil servants to be in charge of each criterion with careful and effective methods, creating solidarity and unity among the people.

Taking advantage of being close to the district center and having National Highway 2 running through it, Phu Loc has promoted the comprehensive development of industry, handicrafts, agriculture, trade and services. In agriculture, the commune encourages the development of concentrated production models, the application of scientific and technical advances, and the introduction of mechanization into production.

In particular, encourage and facilitate residential areas with hilly forest land to develop farm economic models, expand fruit tree areas such as Gia Thanh seedless grapefruit and persimmon. Currently, in addition to more than 200 hectares of intensive rice cultivation, mostly high-quality rice, the commune's 45-hectare main agricultural raw material area focusing on growing grapefruit has been granted a growing area code, implementing production linkages to increase productivity and product quality associated with the consumption market.

In addition to the product "Hoa Vang Dat To Wine" achieving 3-star OCOP, having a stable distribution channel, expanding consumption areas inside and outside the province, many key products of the commune such as: Dien grapefruit, honey, cassava, flowers, ornamental plants... have been granted QR codes, applied digital conversion to trace origin and deployed sales through e-commerce channels.

The rabbit farming model in the direction of production linkage is replicated in Phu Loc.

Promoting the development of industrial production - small-scale industry, services, and trade, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune pay attention to directing the development of local industries such as: Garment, mechanical processing, transportation, civil carpentry, wood processing, construction materials, grocery sales, food services... Up to now, in addition to 473 individual business households, the commune maintains more than 2,000 workers working in factories and industrial parks with an average income of 7 million VND/person/month. This is an important resource to increase income and reduce poverty for the locality. By the end of 2023, the commune's poverty rate will be 1.59%, near-poor households will be 1.14%, and the average income per capita will reach 57.7 million VND/person/year.

From 2018 to now, the locality has mobilized 56 billion VND of resources to focus on building new rural areas, of which 5.5 billion VND was mobilized from the community. The commune has done a good job of propaganda and mobilization about the goals and significance of the advanced new rural construction program, from which the people have agreed to respond and contribute to building public welfare works, investing in renovating houses and campuses, changing the face of the homeland. Currently, 100% of the commune's main roads have been hardened, managed by organizations, ensuring brightness - green - clean - beautiful.

With specific goals, methods, and high determination of the entire political system and the community, on July 30, 2024, Phu Loc was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting advanced NTM standards, the socio-economic infrastructure was invested and upgraded, the roads in the residential area were spacious, clean, and beautiful; the material and spiritual life of the people was increasingly improved, the people agreed and trusted in the leadership of the Party Committee and the government.
