Canh Tien has national grid electricity.
For a long time, the national grid has been a distant dream for the people of Canh Tien - a village isolated in the deep forest, with no car access, in Canh Lien commune (Van Canh district). However, in just ten days, at the end of April 2025, the national grid will arrive here, bringing hope of changing the lives of more than 500 ethnic minorities.
Crossing forests and mountains to bring electricity to the village
Canh Tien village has 188 households, more than 530 people, mainly Bana, Cham, Tay ethnic groups. Here, children study under oil lamps. Without grid electricity, people's access to information is also very limited. Concerned with this, the Provincial People's Committee has determined to bring electricity from the national grid to Canh Tien village, in order to improve life and create momentum for economic development in remote areas.

The project to supply electricity to Canh Tien village, implemented by Binh Dinh Electricity Company, is large-scale and complex: 12.9 km of medium-voltage line through the forest, 2.2 km of low-voltage line, 3 22/0.23 kV transformer stations, 188 remote electronic meters, and an indoor electrical system for all households; total investment capital of 9.2 billion VND from the state budget.
Since the start of construction on December 17, 2024, Tuy Phuoc Binh Dinh Electrical Construction Joint Stock Company, the unit responsible for the construction, has faced many difficulties: Construction in deep forests, climbing mountains to erect poles by hand, pulling wires over steep passes, and transporting materials through muddy roads.
Mr. Le Van Long, Director of Tuy Phuoc Electrical Construction Joint Stock Company, shared: The entire route almost passes through old acacia forests, many sections have to be adjusted to ensure that it does not affect people's production land. All materials must be transported by human power or by boat from Nui Mot Lake (An Nhon Town). The project passes through people's planted forests, so we have to carry out construction and public relations work at the same time to receive people's consensus. At the end of 2024, floods came and collapsed a section of the mountain, dragging along the newly erected electric poles, we had to start over. The company has increased human resources and materials, prioritized construction, and completed the entire volume of the project soon.
Binh Dinh Electricity Company assigned Phu Tai Electricity to support the cost and installation of low voltage lines, electrical panels and lighting to each house, so that households here have electricity as soon as the national grid reaches the village.
Electricity lights up new hopes
Up to now, all items of the project have been completed, the electricity connection ceremony of Canh Tien village is expected to be held at the end of April 2025, but these days the people here are filled with joy. The national electricity for the first time lights up each small house in the middle of the forest, opening a new chapter for the village.

Mr. Dinh Van Tao, Head of Canh Tien Village, emotionally expressed: My villagers never dared to think that one day they would have electricity like in the plains. Now that there is electricity, the villagers are very happy, from now on there will be no more darkness, children and grandchildren will have an easier time studying, life will be better.
The joy does not only come from the people. For the electricians who have crossed mountains and forests to carry out the project, this is a proud milestone. Mr. Dinh Long Van, Director of Phu Tai Electricity, said: On April 14-15, we completed the installation of all electricity meters for households, checked every stage, and waited for the official power connection day. We determined that this is not only a professional task but also a social responsibility. The engineers and electricians worked day and night, regardless of the weather, to meet the schedule. Looking at the people eagerly waiting, we felt that all the efforts were worth it.
From now on, Canh Tien people can plan to buy fans, televisions, study lamps, grinders..., develop livestock farming, and process agricultural products. Children can study under bright, stable electric lights. This event also creates the premise for health care, education , and telecommunications services to reach the people.
Mr. Thai Minh Chau, Director of Binh Dinh Electricity Company, emphasized: Bringing electricity to Canh Tien village is a milestone in the journey of building a rural power grid in the province. From the strong direction of the provincial leaders, the close coordination between all levels and sectors, especially the consensus of the people, we are committed to continue developing a safe and stable power system to better serve the lives of people in remote areas.
