Billboard finally announced Beyoncé is the winner of the title of Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century after months of counting down. The former Destiny's Child member defeated the "heavyweight" candidate Taylor Swift to rise to the top of this list.

Although Taylor is the best-selling pop singer of the 21st century, that is not the only factor that Billboard decided on. According to the prestigious newspaper, Beyoncé ushered in a new era with her 2013 album, and this was also the main factor that helped the singer win the top spot.

Meanwhile, Rihanna took third place despite her absence from the music scene for many years. Drake took fourth place and Lady Gaga came in fifth. In addition, only two bands made it onto Billboard's list, BTS at ninth and One Direction at 22nd. Several rappers were also on the list, including Kanye West, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Bad Bunny and Drake.

Last week, Hailey Bieber was furious when Justin Bieber only came in at number 8. She felt that her husband deserved a higher position. However, many viewers thought that being in the top 10 was a great and reasonable honor, especially when the singer Sorry Has not released new music for the past 3 years.
