President To Lam congratulated Ambassador Ito Naoki on being appointed by the Japanese Government as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam at an important time, when the two countries have just upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and successfully organized activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2023.
Assessing that the two countries have many cultural similarities and many potentials and advantages to complement each other for mutual development, the President affirmed that Vietnam wishes to work with Japan to substantially and effectively implement the recently upgraded Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework, meeting the interests and aspirations of the people of the two countries, and actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
President To Lam asked Ambassador Ito Naoki to effectively promote his role as a policy proposer and an important bridge in the bilateral relationship; actively coordinate to concretize the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with key tasks.
On the same afternoon, President To Lam received Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou.
The President congratulated Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Belarus (July 3, 1991 - July 3, 2024) and expressed his delight at the socio-economic achievements that Belarus has achieved in recent times. The President affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Belarus; affirmed that Vietnam always considers Belarus a friend and reliable partner, and is determined to continue to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Belarus.
The President highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the two countries in recent times, including promoting the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism in implementing cooperation agreements and efforts to seek measures to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economics - trade, investment, defense, security, science - technology, culture, education, local cooperation, etc.
