Vietnam and Russia coordinate to arrange Putin's visit at appropriate time

On the afternoon of March 28, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, answering a reporter's question about the possibility of Russian President Vladimir Putin visiting Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Duc Thang said: On March 26, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a phone call with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

On this occasion, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong respectfully invited President Vladimir Putin to pay an official visit to Vietnam soon, and President Putin happily accepted. The two sides also agreed to coordinate to arrange the visit at an appropriate time.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian media that the time of the visit will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels and there is currently no specific date.

During the phone call on March 26, President Putin respectfully thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for the timely visit and condolences of the Party, State and people of Vietnam over the losses of the Russian people in the terrorist attack on March 22, 2024.

The President affirmed that Vietnam is always a friend and reliable partner of the Russian Federation. President Putin expressed his delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations in all fields.
