VEC will increase tolls on four expressways of this enterprise from February 1.

VEC said it will continue to apply the 8% value-added tax rate from January 1 to June 30 according to the Government's regulations on extending the VAT reduction period.

Specifically, on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, vehicles with less than 12 seats traveling the entire route will have to pay 189,280 VND/vehicle. Trucks of 18 tons or more, and 40-foot container trucks will cost 756,000 VND/vehicle.

For the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway, the price for vehicles with less than 12 seats on the entire route is 82,880 VND/vehicle; trucks from 18 tons and up, and 40-foot container trucks are 329,280 VND/vehicle.

For the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, the price for vehicles with less than 12 seats on the entire route is 216,160 VND/vehicle; trucks from 18 tons and up, and 40-foot container trucks are 868,000 VND/vehicle.

The lowest increase is on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway. Accordingly, vehicles with less than 12 seats on the entire route have a price of 105,000 VND/vehicle; trucks from 18 tons and up, and 40-foot container trucks have a price of 420,000 VND/vehicle.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport approved the proposal of the Vietnam Road Administration to increase toll prices for 41 projects (47 toll stations). Explaining the increase in toll prices for BOT projects, the leader of the Vietnam Road Administration said that BOT projects managed by the Ministry of Transport were put into operation mainly before 2016. According to the provisions of the BOT project contract, a toll price adjustment cycle is 3 years/time (with an increase of 6%/year).

Although the projects and toll stations have reached the period of increasing ticket prices from 2019 to 2022, there are some projects that have reached the second ticket increase cycle but have not yet increased prices, affecting the financial plan and the project's ability to recover capital.
