According to the announcement of the National Assembly Office, tomorrow (August 19), the 36th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will open. The session is expected to take place from August 19 to 22.

At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review and give opinions on law-making, supervision and decide on other important issues.

Regarding law-making, the National Assembly Standing Committee spent a lot of time giving opinions on four draft laws.

Including the Electricity Law (amended); Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army; explanation, acceptance and revision of the draft Law on People's Air Defense.

The National Assembly Standing Committee also considered and decided to add the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance and the draft Law on Disease Prevention to the law and ordinance making program.

Regarding supervision work, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review the report of the supervision delegation and approve the National Assembly Standing Committee's thematic supervision resolution on "implementation of policies and laws on innovation of the organization and management system, improving the quality and efficiency of operations of public service units in the 2018-2023 period".

The National Assembly Standing Committee reviewed the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in July 2024 and gave opinions on organizing the National Assembly Forum on supervisory activities.

At the same time, it will give opinions on the draft monitoring plan and report outline of the monitoring delegation of the National Assembly Standing Committee on "implementation of policies and laws on development and use of human resources to meet the requirements of socio-economic development, especially high-quality human resources".

Conduct questioning and answering questions within 1.5 days

During the supervision activities, the session will organize a question and answer session for National Assembly deputies for 1.5 days (live broadcast on television and radio). The question and answer session will take place for 1.5 days, including the day of August 21 and the morning of August 22.

Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Consider and decide on the supplement to the 2024 state budget estimate of the Ministry of Health; consider and decide on the arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels for the 2023-2025 period of Can Tho City, Ninh Thuan Province and Phu Yen Province.

The National Assembly Standing Committee also considered and approved the draft resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee stipulating a number of contents related to resolutions on urban classification, standards of administrative units and classification of administrative units, arrangement of district-level and commune-level administrative units in the period of 2023-2030 to implement the arrangement of urban administrative units in the period of 2023-2025.
