In order to achieve the economic development goal, Quang Yen Town has closely followed the province's working theme for 2024 "Improving the quality of economic growth; developing culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity". In particular, implementing the content of "Improving the quality of economic growth", from the beginning of 2024 up to now, the town has focused on implementing the tasks of economic development, budget collection, site clearance, removing difficulties for businesses; improving the investment and business environment, promoting administrative reform associated with building e-government; effectively managing and using land, environmental resources; ensuring good security and order.
However, Quang Yen town has to face many difficulties and challenges. In September, storm Yagi caused significant damage, Quang Yen was one of the localities severely affected. Most factories and enterprises in industrial parks had their production and business interrupted; many areas of cultivation, crop production, aquaculture, etc. in the locality were damaged. Quang Yen town has focused on overcoming difficulties, rebuilding all production and business activities as solutions after storm No. 3. By mid-September 2024, many enterprises in Quang Yen industrial parks had returned to normal production and business activities, creating momentum for the locality to stabilize socio-economic development.
In the first 10 months of 2024, the town's economic development indicators had a strong breakthrough, creating a large source of budget revenue for the locality. The production value of the industry - handicraft sector reached more than 32,000 billion VND, an increase of 27.1% over the same period in 2023. The production value of the trade - service sector reached 6,677 billion VND, an increase of 36.8% over the same period. The agricultural sector has gradually recovered stably, creating jobs and income for people. The locality is actively removing difficulties in site clearance and implementing key projects, speeding up progress, and promptly disbursing public investment capital. The state budget revenue by the end of November 20 reached more than 1,268 billion VND, reaching more than 100% of the estimate assigned by the province. Of which, revenue from taxes, fees and other revenues reached more than 1,020 billion VND, an increase of 146% over the same period; Land revenue reached over 248.5 billion VND, reaching 192.3% over the same period.
With this budget revenue, Quang Yen Town has achieved the highest revenue ever and has reached the 2024 budget revenue target since the end of November. It is expected that from now until the end of 2024, the locality will strive to collect more than 70 billion VND of state budget. This is a premise to help the locality move towards the goal of balancing its own revenue and expenditure budget by 2025, ensuring the regular operation of the administrative apparatus.
Mr. Tran Duc Thang, Chairman of Quang Yen Town People's Committee, said: From now until the end of 2024, the locality will focus on reviewing local revenues; urging to accelerate the town's budget collection, striving to exceed the highest budget collection target. Regarding land tax collection from organizations and individuals who still owe land rent in the town, the Uong Bi - Quang Yen Tax Department is requested to review cases that do not need to issue a notice to cancel the decision to change land use purpose; coordinate with localities to review land tax debt collection, urge households to pay land tax according to regulations.
Promoting economic growth, attracting investment in industrial parks and key projects is the "key" to economic development and increasing local budget revenue in the coming period.
