Recruiting 300 workers to go to Korea to do new jobs, salary nearly 40 million VND/month

The Overseas Labor Center (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) recently informed about the Pilot Plan to select workers to work in Korea in the original industry - welding in 2023 under the Korean Employment Permit Program for Foreign Workers (EPS Program).

It is expected that the number of people recruited this year will be 300, including workers who registered for the manufacturing industry who took the first Korean language test in 2023 and meet the following conditions: Korean language test score from 80 to under 130 points; graduated from intermediate level or higher in welding, mechanics with welding module training.

Workers who pass the interview round must attend a concentrated training course in welding and Korean language at training facilities selected by the Human Resources Development Agency of Korea (HRD Korea) in Hanoi.

In July, the Overseas Labor Center (Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) piloted the selection of workers to work in Korea in the original industry - welding in 2023.

Specifically, the welding training course is expected to last 20 days. At the end of the welding training course, workers will take the welding skills test organized by HRD Korea. Only workers who pass the welding skills test will be allowed to attend the Korean language training course.

The Korean language training course is expected to last 33 days. At the end of the Korean language training course, workers will be able to take the EPS - TOPIK Korean proficiency test on the computer, with a required score of 80 points or higher (80/200 points). Workers will be able to take the Korean language test twice, and the official result will be the result of the test with the highest score.

HRD Korea is responsible for organizing interviews, creating skills tests, Korean language tests and grading.

Only workers who pass the Korean proficiency test can apply for recruitment and be introduced to Korean businesses.

According to the Overseas Labor Center, if admitted to the training courses, workers must pay the following fees: Pay directly to the vocational training facility the cost of the welding training course and the welding skills test, up to 9,517,560 VND; pay directly to the Overseas Labor Center the cost of the Korean language training course, 3,200,000 VND; and the cost of registering for the Korean language test, equivalent to 24 USD in Vietnamese currency.

Workers who pass the Korean language test and are selected by Korean enterprises to sign labor contracts will have to pay dispatch fees in Vietnamese Dong equivalent to 630 USD, and deposit 100 million VND before leaving the country as general regulations for workers participating in the EPS Program.

Regarding training costs and dispatch costs, in addition to the above mentioned expenses, employees do not have to pay any other fees.

Workers participating in the program will be able to work in Korea for a period of 3 years. If Korean enterprises have a need, they will be able to extend their stay for a maximum of 1 year and 10 months. They will have the opportunity to re-enter Korea to work under the EPS program after returning home on time.

They also receive basic salary, overtime pay and insurance according to Korean regulations. Currently, the minimum wage in Korea is 9,620 won/hour, equivalent to 2,015,800 won/209 hours (about 36 million VND).

Eligible workers who wish to participate must submit their registration documents to the functional unit receiving registration for the first round of the 2023 Korean language test assigned by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the provinces/cities, from now until July 14.
