DTO - Youth! Since ancient times, our grandparents have talked a lot about, honored, and put all their faith in youth. There have been countless comparisons, such as youth is the bright dawn, spring, the most beautiful time of human life, the age full of vitality, the place to entrust the love and hope of the Fatherland, the People... There have been countless pieces of literature, poetry, music, painting... praising and talking about Vietnamese youth.
As a country that has always been invaded by a larger enemy and had to fight to save itself, since ancient times, our ancestors have longed for independence and freedom and have fought steadfastly to gain independence and freedom. That burning desire has become the ideal and reason for living of our people for generations, crystallizing into patriotism, love of independence and freedom. Uncle Ho's famous saying: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" has expressed the truth, ideal, fighting goal, and nature of the Vietnamese national community.

The history of our country in each era records the names of young heroes. The girl Trieu Thi Trinh, just over twenty years old, rode an elephant, drew her sword and led an uprising against the invading Wu army, leaving behind the bold statement: "I want to ride the strong wind, step on the fierce waves, kill the whales in the East Sea, and refuse to bend my back or bow my head to be someone else's concubine." The young man Tran Quoc Toan raised high the flag of the Anti-Tatars, swore to fight to the death with the Mongols... expressing the patriotic spirit and ideals of the youth of the Vietnamese nation.
In the early years of the 20th century, patriot Phan Boi Chau also targeted the young generation of Vietnam to mobilize the Eastern Journey, sending young people to Japan hoping that people with the same “yellow skin and flat nose” would help us to expel the invading French colonialists. Hundreds of young people from the North, Central and South went to Japan. In our province, Nguyen Quang Dieu, Nguyen Huu Kien, Le Van Dang, Le Van Sao... also left their homeland and went away. Unfortunately, patriotism was abundant, will and determination were great, but the path to save the country was not precise, leading to failure. In the country, the organization “Thanh Nien Cao Vong Dang” of patriot Nguyen An Ninh flared up but also fell into a deadlock.
The young man Nguyen Tat Thanh, carrying the patriotic and indomitable blood of the Vietnamese people, boarded a ship to seek a way to save the country when he was just over twenty years old. Experiencing reality everywhere, he found the only correct path to national liberation: Marxism-Leninism. He returned to China and established the first organization called "Revolutionary Youth Comrades Association", targeting young people to educate, enlighten, and guide the path to national liberation. In our province, four young men: Luu Kim Phong, Nguyen Van Phat, Vo Buu Binh, and Nguyen Quyen were trained and recruited into that organization. The energy from that young generation spread like red blood into the countryside, cities, factories, mines, rubber plantations... shining light on the slave class, showing the source of the humiliation of losing the country and the path to save themselves.
In that wave of seething patriotism, the light and belief in victory shone in the souls of young people. Typical people who devoted themselves to the war were: Kim Dong, Ly Tu Trong, Vo Thi Sau, Le Van Tam... rather than retreat before the enemy. Heroic young people such as: Be Van Dan, Cu Chinh Lan, Vo Van Mung... contributed to defeating the French invaders with the whole people. That heroic, indomitable blood flowed through generations of Northern youth who raised high the flag of the Three Ready Youth, left their universities and their homeland fields, took the "Truong Son stick" and went to the South with tens of thousands of Liberation Army soldiers and Southern Youth Volunteers to fight against the Americans. In our province, young heroes emerged such as: Tran Trung Si, Nguyen Minh Tri, Doan Phuoc Truyen... who used their blood with the whole people to "fight the Americans out, fight the puppets down", leading Vietnam to the full month of April 30, 1975.
History turned a new page. The revolutionary content changed, from fighting for independence and freedom, to building and defending the Vietnamese Fatherland along the socialist path. Following their predecessors, the youth of Dong Thap not only reclaimed land to open new economic zones, went to farms to do business, dug canals, built roads... but also had to take up arms to defeat the war of aggression at the southwestern border, ready to go to the North to fight the war at the northern border, to keep the country's borders peaceful, shining on the heroic examples of Tran Van The, Duong Van Hoa, the guerrilla team and the people of Binh Thanh, Battalion 502 achieved the title of Heroic Unit for the second time.
50 years have passed, it is impossible to measure the efforts and sweat of tens of thousands of young people who have devoted themselves to reclaiming Dong Thap Muoi, turning the saline wilderness into a fertile countryside with golden rice fields, lush fruit gardens, bustling hamlets, and communes achieving the title of new rural areas. Soldiers in green uniforms have been guarding the peace of the Fatherland's borders day and night. Generations of young people have joined the army, as soldiers of Regiment 320, the People's Police, the militia... always present to protect the safety of people's lives. Thousands of young people have graduated from colleges and universities, bringing their knowledge and abilities to factories, enterprises..., returning to their hometowns to start businesses from familiar fish, snails, lotus trees, mango trees... of their homeland, into 3-star and 4-star OCOP products, serving people in the province, in the country and beyond national borders, bringing glory to the reputation of Vietnam. Dong Thap youth, with the aspiration to reach the pinnacle of science, technology, digital technology, literature, art, sports, lecture halls, schools, hospitals, research labs..., raise high the Party's pioneering flag and embark on a new era, an era of striving to bring the country on par with the world's great powers.
Today's Dong Thap youth carry forward the patriotic, indomitable blood, the will for independence and freedom of generations of predecessors, promoting intelligence and courage as provisions to continue on the wide-open path, determined to overcome all obstacles, looking straight into the bright future that awaits ahead, ready to build a Vietnam with rich people, strong country, equality and civilization. Uncle Ho is waving his hand! This is our ideal of life!
