On February 28, at the program "Doctor tour - health festival" held at the People's Committee of Tan Phu ward (Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc), about 200 elderly people were examined, treated, and advised on prevention of seasonal flu and chronic diseases.
The program was organized by the Vietnam News Agency's Resident Office in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Phuoc in coordination with the Binh Phuoc Provincial Police Clinic and Pharmacity Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day.
At the health festival, the team of doctors and nurses directly examined, treated and provided free health consultation to about 200 people.
In addition, the organizers also promote ways to prevent seasonal flu and chronic diseases for the elderly.
This is a disease that many people are concerned about recently, especially the elderly, children under 5 years old, people with underlying diseases, chronic diseases... are susceptible to seasonal flu.
According to the organizers, "Doctor tour - health festival" is a charity program with the aim of providing high-quality health care services, completely free of charge, to the community.
At the same time, it contributes to providing basic medical knowledge to raise awareness and knowledge for people in disease prevention.
Thereby promoting healthy lifestyles, improving quality of life and creating a healthy community.
On this occasion, the organizers also presented 20 gifts to poor families and 20 scholarships to excellent students. The total value of gifts, medical examination and treatment activities was about 300 million VND.
Ms. Tran Thi Hai Thuong, Vice Chairwoman of Tan Phu Ward People's Committee, commented that the activity was very meaningful with hundreds of people being directly examined and given treatment advice by a team of experienced doctors.
According to Ms. Thuong, in the locality, there are many people in the fields, some of whom do not really care about their personal health. When there are signs of illness, they will go to the pharmacy to buy medicine based on experience without being fully examined.
Therefore, she hopes that there will be more volunteer programs that bring doctors to the locality to directly examine, provide health consultation and promote disease prevention for the people.
