Can you give a general comment on the "force" of young talents and young artists present at this year's competition?
- It can be said that the 2023 Autumn Music Competition, the 2023 Chamber - Opera - Choir Competition is one of the major and prestigious competitions of the Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism for the Vietnamese music industry in general and vocal music in particular.
The competition attracted contestants from all three regions of the North, Central and South. In the Chamber Singing - Musical Competition this year alone, there were more than 60 contestants participating in two categories: Group A (18-23 years old) and Group B (24 years old and above).
Candidates mainly come from training institutions such as: Vietnam National Academy of Music, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Hue Academy of Music, Military University of Culture and Arts, Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Ho Chi Minh City Opera and Ballet Theatre...
It can be said that the quality of this year's competition is very good. The contestants of the two groups have shown high professionalism. By choosing a competition program that suits their voice to best demonstrate their abilities.

Professor, Doctor, People's Artist Ngo Van Thanh - Chairman of the Jury - commented that the Chamber Singing - Musical - Choir Competition had higher requirements than previous competitions. Could you share more about this?
- In Group A, although the students are still young, they were very confident in performing the most difficult Aria and Romance. They practiced seriously, passionately and performed well in their performances. That is a good sign.
Some of the young talents who won high prizes include: First Prize Group A - Tran Quang Canh (born in 2000); First Prize Group A - Le Minh Ngoc (born in 2000); Second Prize Group A - Vu Quang Cong (born in 2000).
In Group B (large group), the contestants demonstrated the "class" of young artists who have grown up from Academies, schools and theaters,... with faces such as: Group B First Prize - Nguyen Ha My (born 2003); Group B First Prize - Do Vu Lan Nhung (born 1994); Group B First Prize - Tran Quoc Dat (born 1994).
To achieve such initial successes, all of them had to practice hard every day throughout their studies from Secondary School (4 years), University (4 years), Graduate School (2 years) and many of them have become professional performing artists in theaters with very long working experience.
"Practice makes perfect" is the truth of the art of Chamber Music - Musical Theater.
Personally, I am honored to be invited to judge competitions organized by the Ministry and the Department such as: Autumn Music Competition 2019, National Professional Music and Dance Festival 2022 and this year's competition.
What do you think is needed for the talents emerging from the competition to shine on stages not only domestically but also internationally?
- I hope that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Performing Arts will have long-term plans to invest in training and fostering talented chamber music performers; have plans to arrange more reasonable exam schedules; and bring the exam scoring regulations up to international standards.
Furthermore, we need to have more Autumn Music , Chamber Singing - Musical - Open Choir competitions with international elements so that the career of caring for and training Vietnamese classical music talents can be updated to the world level.
