On the evening of December 19, at Lam Son Square, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Drug Crime Investigation, Ministry of Public Security, Department of Performing Arts, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police and Vietnam Drama Theater to organize the program "For a drug-free community".

In recent years, drug prevention and control work in the province has achieved outstanding and important results. From 2022 to present, the province's specialized drug prevention and control force has detected and arrested more than 2,200 cases with more than 4,200 drug offenders, seized more than 200 kg of various drugs; sent nearly 2,000 cases to compulsory drug rehabilitation facilities. Struggled to dismantle and eradicate 30 transnational drug trafficking and transportation lines from Laos, European countries and hundreds of intra-provincial and inter-provincial drug lines. Eradicated nearly 2,000 complex locations, gathering places, and illegal drug trading points.

From the above results, the drug crime situation in the province has been effectively prevented and resolved, creating positive changes in the crime and drug situation, ensuring security - order and peaceful life for the people.

Thanh Hoa is one of 10 provinces nationwide that the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly organized the media event "For a drug-free community".

Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung said: In order to continue to effectively implement drug prevention and control work in the province, and complete the goal of building 100% of communes, wards, towns, districts, towns and cities free of drugs in Thanh Hoa province by 2025, it is recommended that provincial departments, branches and mass organizations, based on the functions and tasks of their agencies, units and branches, have very specific plans to coordinate with the Provincial Police and localities in implementing solutions to build drug-free areas.

It is recommended that media and press agencies increase time and actively organize propaganda about the policy of building drug-free communes, wards, towns, districts, towns and cities in the province.

Party committees and authorities at all levels from district to commune continue to lead and direct the serious implementation of issued directives, resolutions and plans on building drug-free communes, wards, towns, districts, towns and cities; set out tasks, solutions and assign specific responsibilities to each collective and individual in implementation according to the motto of clear people, clear work, clear responsibilities and clear effectiveness.
