Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has a new principal after 4 years

On the morning of October 19, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy held a ceremony to announce and award the decision to recognize the principal for the 2020-2025 term.

New principal 47 years old

At the ceremony, Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen - Deputy Minister of Health - presented the decision of the Minister of Health.

According to this decision, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat, Vice Principal in charge of operations at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, officially holds the position of Principal of the school for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Ngo Quoc Dat is also a member of the Party Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Ngo Quoc Dat was born on August 27, 1977, in Binh Duong.

He started working at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2003 and has held many management positions at the school's units:

Lecturer of Pathological Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine; Deputy Head of Training Management, Faculty of Medicine; Deputy Head of Pathological Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine; Deputy Head of Medicine; Secretary of the School Council; Deputy Head of Embryology - Pathological Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine; Concurrently Head of Laboratory Department, Faculty of Nursing and Medical Technology.

In August 2022, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat was appointed as Vice Principal in charge of professional affairs for the 2020-2025 term of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

In April 2023, the Minister of Health signed a decision to assign Mr. Ngo Quoc Dat - Vice Principal to be in charge of and operate Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has fully completed all leadership positions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen highly appreciated and acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Ngo Quoc Dat during his time in charge of the school.

Mr. Tuyen said that Mr. Dat is a well-trained officer, has held many positions at the school, has a lot of experience and achievements in expertise, scientific research as well as in management.

"Comrade Dat is a highly recommended and trusted cadre from the grassroots level. The Party Committee of the Ministry of Health strongly agrees. After the resolution of the Party Committee, the Minister of Health decided to recognize Mr. Dat as principal.

After a long time, the school has now completed all leadership positions. This is the common joy of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy," said Mr. Tuyen.

At the same time, Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen also hopes that as the school principal, Mr. Dat will continue to show solidarity and coordinate more closely with the school board. Continue to learn from the experiences of previous teachers to promote the development of the school.

Speaking in congratulatory remarks and assigning the new principal Ngo Quoc Dat, Prof. Dr. Tran Diep Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy - also said that after more than 2 years as vice principal in charge, Mr. Dat has been trusted by the school's leadership, lecturers and staff to hold the position of principal.

I hope you will continue to promote the good traditions and values ​​of our school, constantly improve and study, have a strong political will to lead the school forward...", Mr. Tuan said.

Prof. Dr. Tran Diep Tuan also believes that with his extensive experience, management achievements and trust, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat is expected to continue to inherit the achievements of previous generations of school leaders, along with the school leadership team to continuously innovate and create.

Thus, up to now, the board of directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has Associate Professor, Dr. Ngo Quoc Dat - principal, and 2 vice principals, Associate Professor, Dr. Vuong Thi Ngoc Lan and Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh.

Previously, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac resigned from the position of Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

On June 22, Prof. Dr. Tran Diep Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy - presented the resolution of the Board of Directors to re-appoint the Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac.

After Mr. Tran Diep Tuan resigned as principal to take on a new role as chairman of the board of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy from 2020 until now, the school has officially had a principal.
