What does the Ministry of Education and Training stipulate?
According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates admitted in the first round need to complete 2 steps to officially become new students.
- Step 1 is to confirm online admission by 5:00 p.m. on August 27 on the Ministry of Education and Training's high school graduation exam management system (https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn/). Admitted candidates need to perform this admission confirmation step. After the above deadline, if candidates do not confirm admission, it is considered that they have refused to study at the school. In case of being admitted but not confirming admission, candidates can continue to participate in the additional admission round.
- Step 2: After confirming admission on the Ministry of Education and Training system, candidates will complete the admission procedures at the university. The time and method of completing the admission procedures will vary according to the regulations of each school. However, information from the Ministry of Education and Training states that schools are not allowed to end the admission period earlier than the Ministry's deadline because candidates need time to think and make final confirmation.
Immediately after the benchmark scores were announced, universities began accepting candidates to complete admission procedures. Many universities announced that new students would be allowed to come to school to complete admission procedures until 5 p.m. on August 27, such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, etc.
Meanwhile, some universities have set the time for receiving candidates to come to school to complete admission procedures earlier than 5 p.m. on August 27. To date, these schools have made adjustments.
International University has a new announcement about admission procedures time
This afternoon (August 23), International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University) issued a new notice on the process of confirming admission and submitting admission documents for candidates admitted to university in 2024.
According to this new announcement, the school stipulates the time to confirm online admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system before 5:00 p.m. on August 27. International University encourages candidates to confirm online admission from August 19 to August 24. In the admission procedure step, the school encourages candidates to declare information online on the school's admission page before August 24 and encourages them to submit their application directly to the school from August 21 to 4:00 p.m. on August 24.
The school's announcement also stated that after 5 p.m. on August 27, candidates who do not confirm their admission online or have not completed their obligation to pay tuition and provisional fees will be considered as refusing to enroll. After August 27, candidates who do not complete the admission procedures will be considered as not having the need to enroll at the school, and the school will remove their names from the admission list according to regulations. Meanwhile, according to the initial announcement, the International University stipulated that the maximum time for candidates to complete admission confirmation and admission procedures is before 4 p.m. on August 24.
Thus, according to this new announcement, International University does not require candidates to complete admission procedures before 4:00 p.m. on August 24, but can do so before 5:00 p.m. on August 27.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology still accepts students to complete admission procedures until August 27.

This year, the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) will carry out the admission confirmation and student application process through a combination of online and in-person methods. In addition to confirming admission on the Ministry of Education and Training's system, candidates must complete their online admission applications on the school's admissions portal before 5:00 p.m. on August 27. According to the initial announcement, the school only has 2 days for candidates to come to the school to submit paper applications in person, from August 20 to August 21.
However, speaking to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters this afternoon (August 23), Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Thang, Head of the school's Training Department, said that the school is still accepting new students to enroll in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. For those enrolling after August 21, the school will arrange an English placement test on September 4.
