Vietnam is a country with a high level of love for Korean movies in general, in which Korean TV dramas are always in the top of the list of movies loved by Vietnamese audiences.
This Korean webtoon exhibition in Vietnam introduces the original content and images in two webtoon works "Itaewon class" and "Sweet home" which have been adapted into TV series and ranked in the top 1 most favorite movies on Netflix in Vietnam in 2020. This will be an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the space of the two works, thereby feeling the appeal of these two works not only on television but also in the original webtoon.
The exhibition runs from September 7 to September 22.
The exhibition simulates the model of the drinking place, the Itaewon alley in the work Itaewon Class by author KwangJin and the abandoned apartment building and monsters inside the work Ghost World by authors Kim Carnby, Hwang Youngchan. Coming to this exhibition, visitors will be able to have a real experience as if standing in the space of the work.
In addition, the exhibition also includes diverse experience spaces related to the work such as coloring webtoons, stamping webtoon postcards, experiencing recipes for dishes in Korean pubs, taking photos of transforming into monsters, webtoon library, experiencing costumes that often appear in webtoons (Korean school uniforms) and taking photos...
In addition, the exhibition also features many other exciting programs such as: The Webtoon Drawing Contest Award Ceremony with the theme "What are Vietnam and Korea in your eyes?"; Meeting author KwangJin, the author of the Itaewon Class webtoon, including content such as interacting with the author, webtoon drawing demonstrations and especially musical performances of songs from the film along with K-pop songs that are popular in Vietnam performed by author KwangJin himself right at the program; Experience dressing up as a monster character appearing in Ghost World; Learn to write calligraphy from sound effects in webtoon speech bubbles;... These programs promise to receive a lot of love from visitors.
According to the organizers, this exhibition not only organizes programs for visitors but also organizes a business connection program for businesses operating in the webtoon comic industry.
As part of the exhibition's activities, the Korea Creative Content Agency Representative Office in Vietnam will organize a B2B online business connection session on comics and webtoons between Korean and Vietnamese enterprises on September 9-10, 2024 and an online seminar on "Competitiveness of K-Contents in the webtoon and animation industry" taking place on September 10, 2024. In addition, on September 22, 2024 - the last day of the exhibition - a seminar on K-Webtoon copyright will be held by the Korean Copyright Agency.

Director of the Korean Cultural Center Choi Seung Jin said: "According to the actual survey results on the Hallyu wave abroad in 2023, webtoons are the Hallyu content with the highest consumption in Vietnam. Therefore, the Korean webtoon comic exhibition held for the first time in Vietnam promises to bring a new experience to the Vietnamese people, while opening up business opportunities in Vietnam for Korean webtoons and expanding to other industries such as television dramas..."
The Korean webtoon exhibition (K-comics World tour) is a webtoon exhibition held in many countries around the world starting in the Philippines (Manila) in June, Vietnam (Hanoi), Indonesia (Jakarta), Belgium (Brussels) in September, Italy (Roma) in October and Singapore in November./.
