NDO - On the morning of April 3, at Lac Long Quan temple in Mui Ca Mau National Tourist Area (in Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Hien district), Ca Mau province organized a ceremony to pay tribute to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan.

Attending the ceremony, offering flowers and incense were comrades: Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Pham Thanh Ngai, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with many leaders in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, and a large number of people in the southernmost part of the country.

At the ceremony, leaders of the Party Committee and government of Ca Mau province and localities in the province took turns offering the National Ancestor typical local products, praying for national peace and prosperity for every family.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Pham Thanh Ngai read a prayer and made a promise in front of the Temple of the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan.

In front of our ancestors, on behalf of the generations of Lac Hong descendants in Ca Mau, the leaders of Ca Mau province promise to continue the tradition of the Dragon and Fairy, constantly unite to overcome all difficulties and challenges, strive for the cause of building and defending the country of our ancestors, contributing to building our homeland and country to become richer and stronger.

Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai beat the drum three times at the ceremony to pay tribute to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan.

Right after the ceremony, the festival officially took place with many activities, such as: displaying OCOP products, introducing potential and typical local products; traditional cake making contest, decorating cake trays to offer to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan; sports games (volleyball, tug of war, sack race, goal kicking, cockfighting...).

This is an opportunity for locals and tourists to interact, exercise and immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere, helping them understand more about the land and people in the southernmost region of the country...

Many folk sports games took place after the funeral.

Earlier, early in the morning of the same day, in Nam Can town (Nam Can district, Ca Mau province), the Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee and provincial leaders visited and offered incense at the memorial house to record the names of martyrs of the Hon Khoai Uprising.

The uprising took place on December 13, 1940, associated with the name of martyr, teacher, journalist, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Phan Ngoc Hien (also known as teacher Hien).

The uprising became a milestone in the history of the struggle for national liberation of the Party, government, people and army of Ca Mau. Proud of the Hon Khoai Uprising, the land in the southernmost part of the Fatherland took the uprising day (December 13) as the traditional revolutionary day of the province.
