Implementing the plan to coordinate propaganda on seas and islands in 2024

Today, March 27, in Dong Ha City, the Naval Region 3 Command coordinated with the Propaganda Department of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee to organize a conference to review the coordination of propaganda work on seas and islands in 2023 between Naval Region 3 and local Propaganda Departments: Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh; signed a plan for coordination of propaganda in 2024. In his welcoming speech, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang briefly introduced the province's outstanding achievements in economy, culture and society; especially the potentials and advantages of the province's sea and island areas.

At the same time, it affirmed that the army and people of Quang Tri have always shared hardships with localities and the whole country in the cause of national liberation for the aspiration of peace, building and protecting the Fatherland. Considering the sea and islands as the economic opening of Quang Tri in the future, in the coming time, the province will continue to focus on coordinating propaganda with Naval Region 3 and functional forces and localities to both firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland and create momentum for economic development for the province. The province also focuses on increasing the number of permanent militia forces, consolidating and increasing the strength of the defense area.

In 2023, Naval Region 3 and the Propaganda Departments of provincial and municipal Party Committees have comprehensively deployed the contents according to the plan to coordinate propaganda in many new and flexible forms and methods; closely combining propaganda forms with practical activities, responding to developments in the situation, promptly orienting awareness and action for officers, soldiers and people.

Propaganda work was deployed promptly, effectively, in accordance with the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility, building trust, affection and interest of all classes of people, firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Naval Region 3 has closely coordinated with local Propaganda Departments to organize delegations of reporters to directly propagate the sea and islands with 43 sessions for more than 10,000 cadres and people; to propagate and attract human resources at 30 high schools and continuing education centers for more than 22,200 teachers and students.

Coordinated direct propaganda for fishermen on fishing boats, combined with visiting and giving gifts to 134 boats with more than 1,900 fishermen; presented 457 national flags, distributed 275 sets of documents, 950 leaflets, 534 life jackets and lifebuoys, and many other essential materials to fishermen in localities.

During the year, Naval Region 3 hosted over 250 reporters from 40 press and radio agencies; published over 1,300 news, articles and reports reflecting the activities of the region. Newspapers and radio and television stations in provinces and cities in the Central region broadcast over 600 news, articles and reports in various sections, prioritizing the time, volume and frequency of propaganda on the topic of seas and islands.

Coordinated the organization of transportation for delegations of localities, organizations, businesses and press and radio agencies to visit, encourage and wish a happy new year to officers, soldiers and people on Con Co and Ly Son island districts, forces performing tasks at sea on the occasion of the spring of Giap Thin 2024. Successfully completed the task of sending 3 working delegations to visit and inspect Truong Sa archipelago and DKI platform, including many members who are delegates from localities in the Central region.

Effectively implementing the program "The Navy is a support for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea" and sponsoring 12 children of fishermen in difficult circumstances in the provinces from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh; building and renovating economic, cultural and social infrastructure works in the locality; supporting the construction and handover of 1 "House of Gratitude", 1 "House of Great Solidarity", 6 "Houses of Comrades"; organizing medical examinations and providing free medicine for nearly 350 policy beneficiaries.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, Rear Admiral Pham Van Luyen acknowledged and commended the outstanding results in the coordination of sea and island propaganda work in 2023 among units.

It is recommended that in the coming time, the reporting team of the Naval Region 3 Command and the Propaganda Department of localities continue to promote the achieved results, constantly expand the target and scope of propaganda; continue to bring the coordination of propaganda on seas and islands; propaganda to attract human resources into depth, with more widespread, practical and effective influence.

Believing that the task of propagating about the sea and islands is a long-term task, with a starting point and no end point, Rear Admiral Pham Van Luyen hopes that the Propaganda Departments of the provinces and cities in the region and Naval Region 3 will continue to effectively implement the contents of the signed agreement on coordination in propagating about the sea and islands in the coming time.

At the conference, the Navy awarded certificates of merit to 7 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in coordinating propaganda work on seas and islands in 2023. Navy Region 3 and the Propaganda Department of 6 provincial and municipal Party Committees organized the signing of a program to coordinate propaganda on seas and islands in 2024.

On this occasion, the Naval Region 3 Command announced its decision to adopt Tran Thao Nhi, the child of a fisherman in difficult circumstances in An Hoa 2 quarter, Cua Tung town, Vinh Linh district; awarded 80 million VND to build a house of gratitude for Ms. Duong Thi Nguyen, the wife of a martyr, in Vinh Long commune, Vinh Linh district; and presented 50 national flags, 20 round buoys, 20 life jackets, and 400 meters of mooring rope to 20 fishermen in Quang Tri.
