The award ceremony was attended by comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; comrades of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee, and comrades leading the Central Committees, Ministries, branches, agencies, and representatives of press and media agencies.
The contest is chaired by the Central Propaganda Department, in coordination with the Central External Relations Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Border Guard Command, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and related units.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia praised and highly appreciated the authors who actively participated in the contest. In order to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda and foreign information on national border and territory work, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department suggested continuing to strongly innovate the content, form and methods of propaganda and foreign information to promote the image of the country and Vietnamese people internationally, especially information on economic, cultural and social development in border areas... Special attention should be paid to grasping the ideological situation and public opinion among the people to have appropriate propaganda measures. Timely detect, prevent and effectively combat wrong views and activities that take advantage of border, territory, ethnic and religious issues to sabotage the great national unity bloc and the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and neighboring countries.
This is the third time the Central Propaganda Department has launched the Artistic Photography Contest on the theme of national land borders. The Organizing Committee received more than 14,000 entries from nearly 2,000 authors from 63 provinces and cities.
At the end of the contest, 128 works were selected by the Jury to be exhibited and introduced to the public across the country, the Vietnamese community abroad and international friends. Of these, 22 best works were awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze and Encouragement Medals.
