SOLEMNLY ORGANIZED 45TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF PRESIDENT TON DUC THANG (FEBRUARY 14, 1980 – FEBRUARY 14, 2025 LUNAR LUNAR LUNAR)

Today, March 13, 2025, at the special national relic of President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province solemnly held a ceremony to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the death of President Ton Duc Thang (February 14, 1980 - February 14, 2025 Lunar calendar).

Attending the memorial ceremony were comrade Le Hong Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung, along with comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, former leaders of An Giang province through the periods, representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of other provinces, departments, branches, unions of An Giang province, agencies, units of Museums and Monuments outside the province, Ba Son Corporation, Ton Duc Thang University, and all relatives of Uncle Ton.

Comrade Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam also sent a fresh and respectful flower basket to Uncle Ton at the Memorial Ceremony.

The Memorial Ceremony is an annual traditional activity, to commemorate and express gratitude to President Ton Duc Thang, an outstanding son of An Giang homeland, an exemplary communist soldier, a close comrade in arms of President Ho Chi Minh, forever remembering his noble contributions and sacrifices for the independence and freedom of the country, the happiness of the people, demonstrating the tradition and morality of drinking water, remembering its source of our nation.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, at Uncle Ton Temple, comrade Le Hong Quang - Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee led the delegation of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, together with departments, branches, provincial organizations, relatives of Uncle Ton respectfully offered incense, flowers, and gifts to commemorate President Ton Duc Thang, on behalf of all compatriots, soldiers and people of An Giang, expressing their gratitude and infinite gratitude to Uncle, vowing to continue to strive to follow Uncle's shining example and morality, to unite and be determined to fulfill all tasks well, to bring An Giang homeland to increasingly prosperous development, and for the people of An Giang to have a prosperous and happy life.

It has been 45 years since Uncle Ton passed away, following Uncle Ho and his revolutionary predecessors to the world of the Good Man, but his glorious revolutionary career, his great contributions and sacrifices for the country and the people have always been engraved in the history of the nation and will live forever. The image of a very close, simple President Ton Duc Thang, wholeheartedly devoted to the people, a "Hai Thang" who always lived his life for his comrades and teammates will always live forever in the hearts of every Vietnamese person in general and the people of An Giang in particular.

After the ceremony, leaders of An Giang province offered incense at the memorial house of President Ton Duc Thang's childhood in his hometown of My Hoa Hung commune, Long Xuyen city, An Giang province./.
