Vietnamese relief team joins search for earthquake victims in Myanmar

At 3:30 a.m. on March 31, after more than 6 hours of traveling by bus, the relief team of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security arrived at the first gathering point in Zabuthiri, the capital of Naypyidaw (Myanmar) to participate in the search and rescue of victims of the earthquake. This area was severely affected by the disaster, with power outages.

On the way, Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Head of the working group of the Ministry of Public Security, assigned 26 members of the group to 3 working groups. The immediate task is to move and gather equipment and goods, then, upon arriving at the location, set up camps and deploy rescue plans.

On the morning of March 31, the relief team of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense held a meeting with the coordinator of the Myanmar Disaster Emergency Relief Center.

After a quick meeting, the foreign coordinators brought the Ministry of Public Security's working group to the scene first, about 20 minutes away from the group's location.

The scene was house number 2367 in Balathidi residential area in Zabuthiri, 3 floors high, completely collapsed on an area of ​​200m2 . In front of the house, a man over 60 years old was trapped, behind there was a woman about 30 years old trapped.

The representative of the working group said that through initial survey, soldiers detected the smell of corpses. The working group used sniffer dogs and equipment to locate and search for victims trapped in a completely collapsed 3-storey house in the capital Naypyidaw.
