On July 1, the Nam Dong District Forest Protection Department (Thua Thien Hue) announced that a rare reticulated python that crawled into a coffee shop in the district had just been captured by the unit's forces and released back into the wild.
Previously, the Nam Dong District Forest Protection Department received a report from local residents about a rare reticulated python crawling into a coffee shop in the park area of Khe Tre town, Nam Dong district.

Immediately after receiving the information, Nam Dong District Forest Protection Department deployed forces to promptly capture the python to ensure people's safety.
This rare reticulated python weighs about 6kg and is in normal health. The Nam Dong District Forest Protection Department is currently taking care of the reticulated python while waiting for the completion of required procedures to release it into the wild.
The reticulated python has the scientific name Python reticulatus, belonging to the List of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals, group IIB, as stipulated in Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP dated September 22, 2021 of the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 06/2019/ND-CP dated January 22, 2019 of the Government on management of endangered, precious, and rare forest plants and animals.
