Ho Chi Minh City finalizes 10th grade enrollment plan for 2025-2026 school year

On the morning of March 30, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee officially issued the 10th grade enrollment plan for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, students graduating from junior high school in the 2024-2025 school year in Ho Chi Minh City, within the prescribed age, are eligible to participate in the admission exam to public high schools.

This year’s admission method includes two forms: entrance exam and selection. Selection is applied to students who have graduated from Thanh An Secondary and High School (Can Gio District). The remaining students will participate in the entrance exam to have the opportunity to enter public high schools in the city.

The admission process is divided into two phases. In phase one, students register up to three admission wishes to public high schools in order of priority. After the results are announced, depending on the actual number of candidates submitting applications and the enrollment needs of the schools, the Department of Education and Training may organize additional enrollment to ensure enrollment targets and student benefits.

To avoid cases of being admitted but not enrolled, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee encourages students to choose their preferences that are appropriate to their place of residence. After the deadline for adjusting preferences, candidates are not allowed to change their choices. If admitted to any preference, students are required to study at the school they registered for.

This year's 10th grade entrance exam will take place on June 6 and 7, 2025. Candidates will take three exams including Math, Literature (120 minutes for each subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes for each subject, according to the first foreign language they are studying at secondary school). The exam scores are calculated on a 10-point scale, rounded to the nearest 0.25. All three subjects have a coefficient of 1. To be admitted, candidates must take all three exams and not have a score of 0 in any of them.

This year's 10th grade admission plan aims to ensure fairness and transparency, helping students make choices that suit their abilities and learning conditions.
