Tra Vinh awards over 3.5 billion VND in scholarships to students

Tra Vinh University has just organized a program to award scholarships to encourage students' learning with a total amount of over 3.5 billion VND and to honor individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in the school year, and individuals and groups receiving noble titles from the State.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, Tra Vinh University welcomed 3,259 new students admitted to 43 university and college training programs; including 26 international students from Cambodia, bringing the total number of international students studying at the school to more than 100 students.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, former Deputy Prime Minister, awarded scholarships to Professor and Dr. Nguyen Thien Thanh to students of Tra Vinh University.

The school awarded 2 scholarships including tuition and dormitory accommodation to Cambodian students, equivalent to 71.6 million VND (for medical students) and 61.9 million VND (for pharmaceutical students); supported living expenses for 8 Lao students, equivalent to 84 million VND. At the same time, certificates of merit were awarded to 9 students with outstanding achievements in domestic and international competitions.

In particular, this school year, Tra Vinh University received and awarded 593 scholarships from units, individuals, organizations, sponsors, and domestic and foreign scholarship funds to support students with a total scholarship value of over 3.5 billion VND.

At the ceremony, the school honored Professor Pham Tiet Khanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tra Vinh University, to receive the First Class Labor Medal, for his outstanding achievements in education and training from the 2018-2019 school year to the 2022-2023 school year. This is a noble award from the State, recognizing Professor Khanh's great contributions to the cause of building and developing education in the province. Tra Vinh University also honored many collectives and individuals to receive the Third Class Labor Medal, Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister and the Emulation Flag of the province for Tra Vinh University for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement in 2023.
