On the afternoon of September 24, information from the leader of Binh Thanh District (HCMC) said that the authorities had promptly rescued 7 people in the collapse of a house at 133/4 Binh Quoi Street, Ward 27, Binh Thanh District.

At around 12:30 on September 24, residents in Alley 133, Binh Quoi Street, discovered that a four-story house in the alley had completely collapsed. People nearby rushed to the rescue but were too late. According to local residents, when the incident occurred, a group of workers were repairing the house and were trapped in the rubble.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police (PCCC – CNCH) of Binh Thanh District Police and other units quickly arrived at the scene to deploy forces and carry out rescue work at the scene of the incident.

As the person directly in charge of the rescue at the scene, Colonel Huynh Ngoc Quang, Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, said that because the collapsed house had many steel frames above, the force deployed iron ladders, crowbars, pliers, shovels... to dig through the rubble and cut through the iron to search for victims.

After the initial search, the authorities quickly rescued and brought 5 people out and provided emergency care and monitoring at Binh Thanh District Hospital.
After actively rescuing, the authorities continued to bring out two more people buried in the rubble in a seriously injured condition and took them to Gia Dinh Hospital for emergency treatment.
Ambulances were also dispatched to the scene. |
According to information from the People's Committee of Ward 27, the collapsed house was 4 stories high. The owner of the house is currently calling someone to repair the house. While drilling, the weak foundation caused the house to collapse completely.
Previously, the homeowner had submitted a request to repair and re-floor the house due to its tilt. However, on the very first day the workers arrived to repair the house, an incident occurred.
