Dental examination for students from 3 to 17 years old

The Provincial Center for Disease Control is implementing a program to examine and investigate oral diseases for students in Lao Cai province in 2025.

The activity will be implemented from April 8 to May 26, 2025. During this time, about 20,000 students aged 3 to 17 years old at 60 schools in Lao Cai city, Bat Xat and Muong Khuong districts will be examined and consulted.

Participating in the examination were staff from the Department of Environmental Health - School Health, the Provincial Center for Disease Control and the support of medical staff from the commune health station and school health workers.

Dental examination helps detect early and advise on treatment for diseases such as tooth decay, gingivitis, periodontitis, malocclusion...

Based on the examination results, the health sector will assess the rate of oral diseases, investigate the causes and factors affecting the rate of oral diseases. From there, propose preventive solutions to reduce the rate of oral diseases for students.

During the examination, cases of dental diseases will be consulted by doctors and guided to medical facilities for examination and treatment. In addition, medical staff will also promote propaganda and provide guidance on measures to prevent and combat diseases related to teeth and mouth.
