Can Tho City receives Second Class Labor Medal from Laos

On the afternoon of January 14, the delegation of Champasak province (Lao People's Democratic Republic), led by Comrade Alounxay SounNaLath - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Champasak province - visited, extended New Year greetings and presented the Second-class Labor Medal of the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Can Tho City.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; representatives of Can Tho University, and representatives of a number of city departments and branches.

Authorized by the Prime Minister of Laos, Mr. Alounxay SounNaLath - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Champasak Province - awarded the Second Class Labor Medal of the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Can Tho City.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation on the eve of the New Year, and highly appreciated the affection and care that the Champasak provincial government has for Can Tho City. Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu also expressed his honor that Champasak province proposed to the Lao Party and State to award the Second Class Labor Medal to Can Tho City.

Thanking the Can Tho City government for the warm welcome for the delegation, Mr. Alounxay SounNaLath - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Champasak Province - also informed about the areas in which the two localities have cooperated and achieved results in the past time, especially in the field of agriculture, and expressed his wish that Can Tho City will continue to support the construction of Champasak province to become a center of agricultural development in Laos.

At the meeting, the leaders of Can Tho City and the Champasak Provincial Delegation held a ceremony to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Can Tho City, for its achievements and contributions in the cooperative relationship and financial support for the development of Champasak Province in recent times.
