Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son presented the decision appointing Mr. Bui Nguyen Long to hold the position of Consul General of Vietnam in Chongqing, China.

Attending the ceremony were Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu and representatives of functional units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated new Consul General Bui Nguyen Long and emphasized the important role of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing in promoting multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and China, especially with localities in the central and western regions of China.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated the new Consul General Bui Nguyen Long and asked the new Consul General to promote his capacity, courage and working experience, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Chongqing is a centrally-governed city of China, strategically located and is the center of economic development, trade and logistics in the western region of the country. The establishment of the Consulate General here is expected to facilitate connection, promotion and cooperation activities between Vietnam and this large, dynamic region of China.
