Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai welcomes the President of Indonesia
Welcoming the Indonesian President and his delegation at the airport were: Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Ta Van Thong, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, leaders of units of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Indonesian President is the first foreign leader to visit Vietnam in 2024. This is the second time Indonesian President Joko Widodo has made a state visit to Vietnam, after his visit in September 2018. The visit contributes to further strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia that has been nurtured for nearly 70 years (from 1955 to present).
The visit is also an opportunity for the two sides to continue discussing measures to promote cooperation and deepen the Vietnam-Indonesia strategic partnership, while also providing an opportunity for the two countries to exploit opportunities and potential for cooperation in many fields.
The state welcoming ceremony for the Indonesian President will take place on the morning of January 12, chaired by President Vo Van Thuong at the Presidential Palace. After the talks, the two leaders will witness the signing of documents and meet the press.
The Indonesian President will also meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; and with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, meet with a number of typical Vietnamese and Indonesian enterprises.
During the visit, President Vo Van Thuong and the Indonesian President will attend a martial arts performance at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace. In addition, President Joko Widodo will lay a wreath and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; and lay flowers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs.
