According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Region V, in the first quarter, the total mobilized capital of credit institutions (CIs) in the province reached VND 30,200 billion, an increase of 2.8% compared to the end of 2024.
Outstanding loans of credit institutions in the first quarter of 2025 reached VND 16,860 billion, an increase of 0.05% compared to the end of 2024; bad debt was about VND 306 billion, accounting for 1.8% of total outstanding loans.
The State Bank of Region 5 has directed local credit institutions to expand credit right from the beginning of the year, in order to promptly meet the capital needs for production and business of enterprises and the consumption needs of people. Credit capital focuses on credit programs and policies for priority sectors and areas, economic growth drivers: Lending to small and medium enterprises (SMEs); lending to the agricultural and rural sectors; social policy credit programs... Continue to direct local credit institutions to improve credit quality, control bad debts, implement solutions to handle bad debts such as: Making provisions and handling risks according to regulations, urging debt collection, coordinating with courts and enforcement agencies to recover bad debts.
Specifically, in the province, outstanding loans to SMEs reached VND 3,052 billion, down 2.6% compared to the end of 2024 and accounting for 18.6% of the total outstanding loans in the province with 423 SMEs still in debt, overdue debt was VND 84.7 billion, accounting for 2.8% of the total outstanding loans to SMEs. The lending turnover for the agricultural and rural sector reached VND 280 billion, outstanding loans reached VND 3,911 billion, down 3.2% compared to the end of 2024 and accounting for 23.8% of the total outstanding loans in the province with 16,890 customers still in debt, overdue debt was VND 121.3 billion; outstanding social policy credit reached VND 4,800 billion, up 3.18% compared to the end of 2024.
