General inspection of Ha Tinh power grid's "health" to serve Tet

Ha Tinh Electricity Company is conducting a general check of the "health" of the power grid, preparing backup materials and preparing plans for safe and stable power supply to serve the people during the Tet holiday.

The power grid of Ky Anh town and Ky Anh district stretches across many mountainous and coastal terrains, so the risk of incidents is high, especially during times of sudden load increase. Therefore, from the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2023, Ky Anh Power Company has proactively developed and implemented power supply plans before, during and after Tet.

In recent days, Ky Anh Power workers have continued to divide into many working groups, focusing on tasks on the grid such as: handling defects in the medium and low voltage grid; adjusting meter boxes, adjusting the grid according to standards... In coastal communes such as: Ky Ha, Ky Ninh (Ky Anh town), Ky Phu, Ky Khang, Ky Xuan (Ky Anh district)..., the grid is always affected by frost, so the work of checking and replacing equipment on the grid is always focused on by the professional sector.

Mr. Dang Don Son - Director of Ky Anh Electricity said: "To ensure power supply before, during and after Tet, the unit has carried out phase balancing of more than 50 transformer stations, replaced more than 37 poor quality transformers, replaced more than 9 km of poor quality low voltage lines, and built 8 new transformer stations with a total capacity of 1,440 KVA to prevent overload in the area. Currently, the unit continues to focus on inspection and completion of defects on the grid; has a plan to prioritize power supply for important electrical loads; fully prepares spare materials and equipment for timely replacement when incidents occur".

During Tet, the demand for electricity in Ha Tinh City increased. Accordingly, the specialized sector has increased the work of periodically checking the power line system and transformer stations day and night; rotating and replacing transformers operating at full load.

Since the beginning of January 2024, the City Power Company has rotated 11 transformers, conducted 25 hotline cleaning sessions on energized 22 KV lines, cleaned 88 pole positions and 25 transformer stations. At the same time, it has launched to fix defects on lines and transformer stations; renovate 5S at 2 transformer stations, install 1 sectional circuit breaker, replace the stud, porcelain, and accessory systems; perform phase balancing, load sharing, supply reinforcement, and steering of low-voltage lines at 30 transformer stations...

Ha Tinh City Electricity workers focus on fixing defects on the grid.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thong - Director of Ha Tinh City Electricity informed: “Recently, the city has focused on accelerating the progress of important transport infrastructure investment projects. Accordingly, the City Electricity has proactively coordinated with construction units, the City Land Fund Development and Investment Management Board; and local network operators to renovate and bury the power system and telecommunication cable system on many roads. Currently, the City Electricity is focusing on human resources, increasing work on holidays, completing tasks early, contributing to creating a civilized and modern city appearance”.

Leaders of Ha Tinh Electricity Company closely followed the scene and supported contractors during the construction of the grid investment project in the area.

Along with Ky Anh, Ha Tinh City, the remaining 10 power units and the Ha Tinh High Voltage Grid Operation Management Team are also making efforts to implement solutions to improve the reliability of power supply in the area. In particular, special attention is paid to overcoming defects on the grid; increasing the use of modern technical equipment such as flycam, thermal imaging camera... which plays an important role in detecting and promptly handling risks of incidents on the grid.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tri Dung - Head of Technical Department, Ha Tinh Electricity Company: The Company has directed its affiliated units to develop and implement plans to ensure electricity for production and consumption, including plans to ensure power supply, security, and fire prevention and fighting during the Lunar New Year. Do not perform work that requires stopping, reducing power supply, or causing power outages to customers, except for handling incidents during the Lunar New Year from 0:00 on February 8, 2024 (ie 29th of Tet) to 24:00 on February 14, 2024 (ie 5th of Tet).

At the same time, the organization will strengthen leadership, operate and repair electricity 24/7 during holidays and Tet; fully prepare materials, equipment, communication systems and means, ready to quickly handle arising incidents; check and strengthen the power grid to ensure safe, continuous and reliable power supply for electricity customers, locations of political, cultural and artistic activities during holidays and Tet...

Ha Tinh Electricity has stepped up inspections of the power grid at night to promptly detect unusual incidents.

Since the fourth quarter of 2023, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has detected and handled more than 536 defects on the power grid, combined with periodic day and night inspections to measure the temperature at 13,008 connection points, thereby promptly detecting and handling 79 heat-generating locations.

At the same time, phase reversal was carried out at 187 transformer stations, 28 overloaded and underloaded transformers were rotated; 238 hotline insulation cleaning sessions were carried out, 115 hotline repair sessions were carried out; 541 low-voltage capacitor banks were checked, 278 damaged and inoperable capacitor banks were reset; 200 old lightning arresters were installed and replaced; 67km of high and medium voltage lines, 120km of low voltage lines and 73 transformer stations were renovated, ensuring electrical safety and contributing to the urban beauty during the Giap Thin New Year.
