As a mountainous district in the west of Quang Nam, Nam Giang is home to a large number of ethnic minorities such as Co Tu, Ve, Ta Rieng... Traditional brocade has long been used by the people, is a national identity, a unique beauty, reflecting the ingenuity and talent of highland women put into each piece of fabric.

According to Mr. Chau Van Ngo - Vice Chairman of Nam Giang District People's Committee, brocade costumes always have a special attraction not only for ethnic minority communities but also impress many tourists and researchers. The cultural quintessence and traditional beauty of each ethnic group are skillfully conveyed through each pattern and motif on the brocade.

At the 6th "Echo of Gongs" festival recently held by Nam Giang district, all the actors, artists and many ethnic minorities in Nam Giang district confidently wore traditional costumes to attend the festival. The color of brocade filled the festival space, highlighting the beauty of the Co Tu, Ve and Ta Rieng boys and girls.

"The brocade costumes are designed more delicately, combined with modern elements but still retain the national soul, both enhancing traditional beauty and selectively absorbing and inheriting modern clothing trends," Mr. Ngo shared.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Hung - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Nam Giang district said that the renovation of brocade costumes not only helps promote the traditional culture of ethnic minorities in Nam Giang district but also affirms the position of brocade in the future. Because these costumes always attract the attention of tourists and receive the attention of many fashion designers, contributing to raising the cultural level of the mountainous people.

"Thanks to the harmonious combination of tradition and modernity, Nam Giang's brocade costumes have become a unique cultural symbol, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the cultural values of ethnic minorities, while creating a strong attraction for those who love to learn about the culture of ethnic minorities in Quang Nam in general, and in Nam Giang district in particular," Mr. Hung emphasized.
