In the first quarter of 2025, along with the growth of the agricultural and forestry sectors, the province's fisheries sector also recorded a high growth rate of 7.97%. This result is thanks to mechanisms, policies and solutions for sustainable development and effective protection of aquatic resources.

In the first quarter of 2025, the total aquatic product output of Son La province is estimated at 2,390.5 tons, up 7.97% over the same period last year. Of which, the output of farmed aquatic products is estimated at more than 2,000 tons. This is the result of policies to support people, apply safe production processes, use quality breeds and suitable feed; along with promoting the establishment of cooperatives to build a chain of links in the production and consumption of aquatic products.
Developing aquaculture associated with exploitation not only contributes to increasing output but also ensures sustainable development for the province's fisheries sector in the coming time.
