On the evening of December 18, banks and gold shops simultaneously increased the purchase price of SJC gold bars.

(NLDO) – Banks and gold companies have increased the buying price of SJC gold bars and gold rings by 500,000 VND to one million VND per tael.

On the evening of December 18, SJC Company listed the buying price of SJC gold bars at VND83.1 million/tael and the selling price at VND85.1 million/tael. This is also the trading price of SJC gold bars at PNJ, DOJI, and Bao Tin Minh Chau.

Compared to the morning, the price of gold bars at these businesses increased by 500,000 VND/tael for buying, while the selling price remained stable.

This remarkable development also occurred at gold shops and banks.

ACB raised the buying price of gold bars to 83.8 million VND; Eximbank bought 83.1 million VND while Sacombank bought up to 84.1 million VND/tael. On the selling side, banks listed around 85.1 million VND/tael.

Compared to the morning, the buying price of SJC gold bars in some places increased by a million VND/tael.

Gold prices tonight increased sharply in the buying direction for both SJC gold bars and 99.99 gold rings.

The highest buying price of gold bars at Mi Hong Company when listed was 84.3 million VND/tael, the selling price was the same as other places at 85.1 million VND/tael.

Not only did businesses increase the purchase price of SJC gold bars, they also raised the purchase price of 99.99 gold rings to the highest level of about half a million VND/tael.

SJC Company is trading plain gold rings at 83 million VND; PNJ Company is buying at 83.6 million VND while DOJI Group is buying at 83.7 million VND/tael.

In terms of selling price, 99.99 gold rings do not have a big difference, around 84.7 million VND/tael.

This is a rather strange development in the market during the day, explained by the increase in buying price to stimulate the demand for selling gold from the market. The difference in buying and selling price also narrowed from the highest level of 2.5 million VND/tael to the lowest level of 1 million VND/tael.

Domestic gold prices fluctuated amid slowing global prices. Currently, the world gold price is trading at 2,645 USD/ounce, down slightly from the morning. Gold prices were "quiet" as the market awaited information from the US Federal Reserve's (FED) policy meeting. The USD index, which has remained high at over 106.6 points, also put pressure on gold prices, making it difficult to break out.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 81.3 million VND/tael.
