Cu Da Lat golf course building built without permission 17,000 m2

On January 10, Mr. Tran Quoc Hung, Deputy General Director of Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company (project investor), confirmed that the building project had stopped construction. Since yesterday, workers have been dismantling camps and moving equipment and machinery out of the construction site.

The construction halt came after Da Lat City authorities inspected the project in April 2023 and discovered a number of violations.

Accordingly, the complex of buildings at the golf course was newly licensed to build a basement, but the investor built 4 more floors without permission. The total floor area of this building is more than 17,000 m2. Behind this building, there is also a cluster of dome-shaped buildings that were licensed, but the investor built more than 3,000 m2 more than the regulation.

Authorities have requested the project to stop construction and complete the documents, but these two projects continue to be built.

The Deputy General Director of Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company said that the construction was stopped so that the company could complete the license in accordance with regulations. The project will continue when the procedures are completed.

Cu Hill is over 62 hectares wide, located next to Xuan Huong Lake. In 1920, the French designed this place into a golf course, for a while this place was used for other purposes. In 1994, this location was restored, becoming a golf course. The hill is located next to Xuan Huong Lake and is one of the few places in the center of Da Lat with many green areas of pine forests, less urbanized, concrete.

Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company is the owner of many tourism projects in Da Lat. Last year, the company proposed to build a complex entertainment and resort area, two 7-storey underground parking lots at Cu Hill Golf Course, covering 62.4 hectares in the middle of Da Lat City to serve the night-time economy; expand Tran Quoc Toan Street...

After completion, the above projects will be handed over to Da Lat City for management and community service. However, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee rejected this idea on the grounds that the items were not yet included in the planning.
