The spirit of volunteering helps people to remove temporary houses in Bac Tra My

Recently, the shock forces in Bac Tra My district have made efforts to accompany and support the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, helping poor households settle down.

Mobilizing human resources to help people

In March 2025, the Military Command of Bac Tra My district launched a campaign to support poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances to start building new houses from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in mountainous districts.

With the spirit of "what the people need is what the military does", the armed forces of Bac Tra My district have pioneered in building new houses filled with military-civilian love.

The Military Command of Bac Tra My District conducted a field survey in localities where many households still have to live in makeshift houses that do not ensure safety conditions, especially during the rainy and stormy season. In Tra Nu Commune, 4 houses were started in March 2025.

Mr. Ho Van Nhu's household (Co ethnic group, village 1, Tra Nu commune) is considered a poor household. He is often sick, lacks production materials, and his family lives in a small, dilapidated wooden house.

From the budget of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Mr. Nhu's family received 60 million VND to build a new house. Determining the family's situation, the Military Command of Bac Tra My district sent soldiers and local militia to support and help the family dismantle the old house, transport construction materials...

Mr. Nhu said: “My family is very excited to receive support to build a new house. The local soldiers have wholeheartedly helped my family build the house. I am very assured, confident and grateful for the attention of the District Military Command and authorities at all levels in helping my family have a stable place to live.”

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar, District Military Command said: "With the goal of eliminating 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses, creating favorable conditions for people to live in more solid and safe houses, the Bac Tra My District Military Command will provide maximum human resources to help families.

Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is an activity that demonstrates the spirit of mutual love, comradeship, and camaraderie of officers and soldiers of the Bac Tra My District Military Command. Thereby, contributing to joining hands with local Party committees and authorities to effectively implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area."

Resolutely eliminate temporary housing

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is one of the important goals in social security work, helping people stabilize their lives and at the same time contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in the locality.

In 2025, the Military Command of Bac Tra My district will coordinate with localities to build 13 houses for families of young soldiers who are in difficult circumstances and 14 houses for families with preferential policies and difficulties.

Along with the support resources of the Central and the province, in the past time, Bac Tra My district has helped 848 meritorious and poor households to have houses that ensure 3 hard things (hard foundation, hard frame and hard roof).

According to data from the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Bac Tra My District, the total number of households approved for elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district is 1,443. Thus, by the end of 2025, the number of households needing support to build houses will be 595.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Long - Acting Chairman of Bac Tra My District People's Committee said: "To demonstrate the determination to effectively implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, and not let anyone live in dilapidated houses, the communes in Bac Tra My district will focus on mobilizing social resources, combined with State resources to join hands to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, especially mobilizing help from the local community.

Localities will promote the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement, while flexibly utilizing capital sources to prioritize support for households in particularly difficult areas and ethnic minority areas.

In addition, people and households receiving support must also make more efforts and try harder, and must partly ensure themselves, by calling on relatives, families, and neighbors in the community to support appropriate human resources and resources to help each other.
