Expected schedule for pension and social insurance benefits payment in July

It is expected that from July 1, pensions and social insurance benefits will increase by 15%.

People receiving pension before 1995, after adjustment, have a benefit level lower than 3.2 million VND/month, the adjustment will increase by 300,000 VND/month.

People with a benefit level from 3.2 million VND/month to less than 3.5 million VND/month will be adjusted to 3.5 million VND/month.

However, the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits this July requires guidance from competent authorities.

According to Decision 166/2019 of Vietnam Social Security, pension and social insurance benefits are paid from the 2nd to the 10th of each month at payment points.

The time is at least 6 hours/day and the payment will only end before the 10th if all beneficiaries on the list are gone. At the post office transaction point, the time is from the 11th of each month to the 25th of that month.

Vietnam Social Security said the 15% increase in pensions and social insurance benefits is the highest increase ever, affecting more than 3.3 million people.

Screening for congenital heart disease for 2,000 children

On June 29 and 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Association in collaboration with the Phu Yen Provincial Journalists Association, the Provincial Red Cross Association, and the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association organized a program to provide free screening for congenital heart defects for 2,000 children in Tay Hoa district and Dong Hoa town.

The volunteer examination team, including young doctors and nurses from Children's Hospital 1, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa General Hospital (members of the Ho Chi Minh City Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Association), performed ultrasound and heart disease screening for children under 18 years old.

In severe cases, children will be transferred for treatment (surgery, intervention) at specialized cardiovascular centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa province with full cost support from benefactors.

Dr. Do Nguyen Tin, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease, shared: "Congenital heart disease is a common malformation in children, accounting for about 1% of newborns.

Some diseases can heal on their own, but there are serious diseases that need to be detected early and treated promptly so that children can have a normal life and a good future."

First performance of the musical "Bi Vo"

On the evening of June 29, at the City Theater, the Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe performed the musical "Bi Vo". This musical was adapted from the work of the same name by writer Nguyen Hong.

Hai Phong Song and Dance Troupe is the first art unit in the country to perform "Bi vo" in the musical form.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong, "Bi Vo" by writer Nguyen Hong is considered "Les Miserables" of Vietnam under the semi-feudal colonial period.

The Arts Council chose "Bi Vo" to be adapted into a musical to meet the increasing demand for theatrical works of the Hai Phong public as well as the whole country.

All workers with food poisoning have been discharged from hospital.

A total of 127 workers at Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company in Hai Phong, a subsidiary of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, suffered food poisoning after lunch on June 27.

The workers were transferred by company vehicles to Viet Tiep Hospital, International General Hospital and An Duong District Medical Center for treatment and health monitoring.

The Shipbuilding Industry Corporation has requested Song Cam Joint Stock Company to actively coordinate with the authorities to clarify the cause and promptly overcome the existing problems so that the canteen can be reopened soon and the workers' psychology can be stabilized.

At the same time, the company is required to immediately implement solutions to ensure shift meals, take care of workers during the temporary closure of the collective kitchen, and ensure production and business.

According to the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of 2024, there have been many mass poisoning incidents, especially in Vinh Phuc, Khanh Hoa and Dong Nai, and now the poisoning incident in Hai Phong has increased sharply in the number of people with food poisoning in the first months of the year compared to the same period.
