Hanoi Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Hanoi Star School, attended a class using 100% iPads and did homework with students on the morning of April 16.
At 8:30 a.m., the motorcade carrying Tim Cook arrived at Hanoi Star Primary and Secondary School in Thanh Xuan district.
After a brief interaction with students and teachers in the schoolyard, he moved towards the main building to attend an iPad class.

Teaching this class, Ms. Huynh Thi Ngoc Thi, a Science teacher in English at the school, said she "felt honored".
She said the lesson was about environmental protection. Students were divided into groups and used tablets to move pictures to one of three areas: "reduce", "reuse" and "recycle". Tim Cook joined in, completing the assignment with two groups of students.
"He is sociable, friendly and smiles a lot. The students are very excited," said Ms. Thi.
Ms. Khuat Thi Thanh Nhan, Principal of Hanoi Star Primary and Secondary School, said that all teachers were surprised and proud to meet Tim Cook.
"My first impression was that he was very friendly, listened well and cared about education," said Ms. Nhan.
Hanoi Star Primary and Secondary School is the first school to use iPads as an official teaching tool. Since 2019, the school has been teaching using the "share iPad" model, through a main classroom and then sharing to classes via the screen.
From the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, the school will apply a 1:1 teaching model in 10 classes, from grades 3 to 7. Accordingly, each student will have a tablet, purchased by their parents, and all interactions in class will be through this device. The time spent using the device in each class will vary, depending on the requirements of each subject.
"Students are excited and confident in every lesson," Ms. Nhan commented.

The principal said she “never thought” about the Apple CEO visiting when implementing this model. The school’s goal is to equip students with more skills in the context of the ever-changing technological world.
"Tim Cook's visit motivates the school to continue expanding its application of technology in education," she said.
Tim Cook arrived in Hanoi on the morning of April 15. During the trip, Apple said it would strengthen its commitment to Vietnam, increase spending on suppliers, and make new progress in its clean water support initiative for local schools.
