On the afternoon of September 4, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with Mr. Kim Tae Ho, Director of Viet Personal Mobility Company (VietPM) on green transportation and the "Clean & Green Smart Hue City" project.

According to the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, VietPM is a company specializing in maintenance, repair, and operation established by Gbike (a Korean enterprise) in Vietnam, aiming to support sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism activities, with the goal of introducing smart mobility technology to support the project's vision.
Within the framework of the strategic vision of a green and smart Hue city, Gbike proposes a project to build a green and smart city using personal transportation.
The project started in April 2024 at Gia Long Tomb and is currently being tested with 20 units in Hue Imperial City.
In the coming time, it is expected that the project will continue to pilot, adding 280 more GCOO electric bicycles in Hue City. Of which, 20 are in Ngo Mon area, 30 are in Ngo Mon and Thuong Thanh area operating in the area of Bau Nam Thang, Bau Nam Xuong and Le Huan Street, Dang Thai Than and Doan Thi Diem... and other areas.

The above vehicles will contribute to the development of tourism in the Hue Upper Citadel area, which is currently being developed by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center into a new tourist destination; creating more environmentally friendly transportation options for people along with the existing bicycles of Hue Smart Bike.
At the same time, it contributes to promoting commercial services in the tourist area of Le Huan Street as well as promoting environmentally friendly means of transport for tourists to Hue.
“The greenhouse gas reduction efficiency of electric bicycles/electric motorbikes has been proven effective from global studies. At the same time, it promotes the green and smart city lifestyle not only for tourists but also for the people of Thua Thien Hue province,” said Mr. Kim Tae Ho.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that Thua Thien Hue is investing and gradually completing infrastructure dedicated to bicycles. Therefore, the development of bicycles in Hue is in line with the province's policy; developing Hue into an environmentally friendly and smart urban area.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong requested relevant departments, localities and units to guide investors to speed up progress and soon implement projects in the area.
