Supporting the 2024 exam season "fueling" scholarships for disadvantaged students

The 2024 Exam Support Program in Ho Chi Minh City has deployed 17 teams with 37,000 student volunteers to participate in online activities and direct candidate support activities at 162 exam locations.

The program commended and awarded certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association to 4 outstanding groups and 22 individuals; and awarded certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Student Association to 2 groups and 112 individuals with outstanding achievements.

The program also awarded 35 scholarships for students in especially difficult circumstances, each worth 18 million VND; and awarded prizes to 18 winners of the Tiktok Challenge contest "Display knowledge - overcome exam season". Total prize value is 25 million VND.

Mr. Le Nguyen Nam, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center, Deputy Standing Committee of the Exam Support Program in Ho Chi Minh City, said that this year's program has many highlights and impressive numbers. In particular, the program has had many practical activities to support and promote online activities for candidates before and during the exam.

The program has implemented 84 career counseling and admission counseling sessions for more than 45,000 students at high schools in the city and provinces. 50,000 career and university and college admission handbooks have been published for high school seniors. More than 120 handheld computers have been supported to be exchanged for new ones for high school students.

"We continue to organize phase 3 activities with support for new students with the following contents: Consulting on finding accommodation, job introduction, study scholarships, social practice skills, etc.," Mr. Nam informed.
