Now Tran Huu Trang Theater has been restored with the hands of director Meritorious Artist Hoa Ha and a young cast, still sweetly permeating the hearts of viewers.
Scene from the play "Song Hau River"
The Hau River Ho has created memorable roles for artists, such as People's Artist Diep Lang as Hoi Dong Du, Artist Hong Nga as Ba Tu Hau, Meritorious Artist Giang Chau as Thua, Artist Ngoc Bich as Lanh, Artist Tuan Thanh as Chon... Now young artists have inherited and truly performed very well. It is impossible to compare with the old masters of the previous generation, here we can only comment on the basis of their abilities and with today's generation, they have fulfilled their mission of conveying a famous work.
The play is set in Soc Trang in particular, and the South in general, during the French colonial period and the Japanese were preparing to replace them. The situation was chaotic, farmers were exploited so badly by landlords that they had no rice to eat, had to work hard and were also bullied and beaten. The family of Mrs. Tu Hau (played by Ha Nhu) and other farmers such as Thua (Meritorious Artist Le Tu), Uncle Ba Thach Sen (Thanh Phong), and Lai (Meritorious Artist Thu Van) all endured until the water broke the bank. A fight broke out and Chon (Hoang Hai), Mrs. Tu Hau's son, was sentenced to life in prison in Con Dao. Four years later, Chon escaped from prison, returned to his hometown to lead the uprising against the Japanese and French. The revolution succeeded, returning land and freedom to the farmers, returning the passionate, loyal love in the peaceful countryside.
The content is full of political content but the playwright Dieu Huyen wrote it very lyrically, true to the style of Cai Luong, the audience was fascinated from beginning to end. People love Tieng Ho Song Hau because they are intoxicated with each lyric full of literature, each piece placed in the right place, each attractive and captivating detail, and Hoa Ha with the nature of staging plays always pushes the tempo faster, the colors more modern, creating a beautiful whole that transcends time. Hoa Ha still uses interwoven LED screens and realistic scenery, but it is not at all contradictory, but still has a traditional quality, suitable for the rural setting. A few layers of singing and scenery are inserted to make the play smoother and more lovely.
