Tien Linh: Vietnam team will win to give 'gifts' to fans

Striker Nguyen Tien Linh will play the role of center forward for the Vietnamese team in the match against Laos, taking place at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 25.

According to coach Kim Sang-sik, Tien Linh deserves to be trusted as a replacement for Nguyen Xuan Son. Tien Linh has experience in the national team, as well as being familiar with the Binh Duong field after many years of association.

In the match against Cambodia (March 19), Tien Linh played despite not having fully recovered from his injury. He had a relapse of the pain in the training session 2 days ago, but was able to return soon after.

"My health is fine. Currently, I am also 100% physically fit and mentally strong. The goal of the Vietnamese team is to win at home. The Vietnamese team just won the AFF Cup, which is a motivation for the whole team to play better.

Before that, the Vietnamese team had a test match to prepare their physical strength against Cambodia. I think it was a good match. The striker born in 1997 also expects the Vietnamese team to win big against Laos to have a perfect start in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

"The Vietnamese team is in good spirits and in good physical condition to enter the first match. The first match is not easy. The whole team is preparing the best to have a positive result in the opening match.

Hopefully the team will have a victory to give to the fans. I understand that the audience is eagerly waiting for the Vietnamese team at Binh Duong Stadium. The whole team will complete the goal and have a resounding victory to give to the fans," Tien Linh added.

Family is the driving force

One of the motivations for Tien Linh to score against Laos in tomorrow night's match (March 25) is that his family will come to Binh Duong Stadium to watch him play.

"Previously, my family did not have the opportunity to watch me play at home for various reasons. But tomorrow's match is the first time my family has come to the stadium to watch me play for the Vietnamese team. This is a great motivation for me," Tien Linh confided.

"Having my family come to the stadium to support me is a great motivation. I understand the responsibility I am carrying. I will compete well and complete the tasks I set for myself."

The Vietnamese team will meet Laos in the opening match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. In the remaining match tomorrow (March 25), Malaysia will visit Nepal.
