At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council listened to and gave opinions on the preparations for the 21st session of the 18th Provincial People's Council, held from July 9-10, 2024 in Vinh city. This is a regular mid-year meeting held with many innovations.
In particular, the duration was shortened from 2.5 days to 2 days. In terms of content, the number of reports presented directly was reduced.

In particular, the question and answer session will be open with contents on socio-economics, national defense - security, foreign affairs, focusing on 2 areas: Internal Affairs related to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province, period 2023 - 2025 and arrangement, settlement of regimes and policies for cadres, civil servants, and redundant workers after the arrangement of commune-level administrative units; Industry and Trade related to state management of food safety; prevention, control and handling of violations in the transportation and trading of smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin; planning, model conversion, investment in construction, business, exploitation and management of markets in Nghe An province. In addition to these 2 contents, delegates of the Provincial People's Council can question other areas.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation - Provincial People's Council reported on the preparation of the content of the session. The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council also listened to and commented on the reports, submissions, and draft resolutions submitted by the Standing Committee of the People's Council to the 21st Session of the 18th Provincial People's Council.

Based on the opinions of the Provincial People's Council delegates, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council agreed to select two contents: The implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the province and the planning and arrangement of the network of preschool and general education facilities in the province and the construction of national standard schools in the province to submit to the 21st Session of the 18th Provincial People's Council to issue resolutions on the monitoring program of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council in 2025.

Concluding the meeting, regarding the preparation for the 21st Session, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh noted many related contents to organize the upcoming session carefully and successfully. First of all, it is necessary to prepare well the content of the session, especially the reports and resolutions submitted by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee. In particular, the Economic - Budget Committee presided over and coordinated with the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council to complete the consultation on 2 contents of the Resolution submitted by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council to the Provincial People's Council, including: Resolution on the results of thematic supervision on the implementation of socio-economic goals and targets according to Resolution No. 18 dated December 13, 2020 of the Provincial People's Council on the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025 of Nghe An province and Resolution on the establishment of the Thematic Supervision Delegation of the Provincial People's Council on the results of 3 years of implementing the public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 of Nghe An province (from 2021 to 2023).
Regarding the resolutions submitted by the Provincial People's Committee, there are expected to be 18 resolutions according to the list, including new proposed resolutions, and resolutions requested to be withdrawn and not submitted at this session. Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh suggested that the Office of the National Assembly Delegation - Provincial People's Council take steps to seek opinions from the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council to finalize the list of resolutions submitted by the Provincial People's Committee; At the same time, prepare well the operating scenario, the content of the reports presented at the session, prepare carefully for the question and answer session... to organize the session thoughtfully and effectively.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh also concluded other contents related to the tasks in the last 6 months of the year such as: Organizing to collect opinions of the Provincial People's Council delegates to select the content of the explanation session of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council; Speeding up the implementation of software to synthesize, classify, monitor and resolve voters' petitions and many other contents related to foreign affairs, people's petitions, etc.
