On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13, 2004 - October 13, 2024), on the morning of October 4, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting between the Government Standing Committee and entrepreneurs and business representatives to express gratitude and honor businesses and entrepreneurs who have made many contributions to the country's innovation and development; at the same time, listen to their sharing, remove difficulties, promote business development, and contribute to the whole country's successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Attending the meeting were Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Deputy Prime Ministers Tran Hong Ha and Le Thanh Long; Ministers, leaders of ministries, branches and central agencies; especially more than 200 businessmen, representatives of enterprises and Vietnamese business associations.

Opening the meeting, warmly welcoming the delegates, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that right after the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, on October 13, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the Vietnamese industrial and commercial community to encourage development and emphasize the role of the industrial and commercial community in the national economy: “Currently, the Industrial and Commercial Association for National Salvation is operating to do many things that benefit the country and the people. I very much welcome and expect many good results. While other groups in the nation are working hard to gain complete independence for the country, the industrial and commercial community must work to build a stable and prosperous economy and finance…”

Inheriting and promoting his ideology, 20 years ago, October 13th was chosen as Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day, with the main meaning of encouraging and honoring the role of entrepreneurs who have contributed many achievements to the Fatherland and the people.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State and Government always respectfully welcome Vietnamese entrepreneurs - talented, dedicated people with a deep and correct awareness of their key responsibilities and pioneering roles in contributing to promoting socio-economic development and enhancing the country's potential, prestige and international position.

Currently, the Vietnamese business community has grown strongly in both quantity and quality, inheriting the tradition of patriotism, promoting the spirit of self-reliance, self-improvement, and dedication to the nation; increasingly affirming its important role and contribution to the economy; a number of businesses have developed to regional and world levels, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.

The Prime Minister suggested that at the meeting, delegates, especially businessmen, representatives of business leaders, and business associations, think together, share their feelings, thoughts, and aspirations about the development of businesses, corporations, and our country, especially in the new era of the nation.

The Prime Minister expressed his hope that entrepreneurs could contribute more to socio-economic development, promote their pioneering role in taking advantage of opportunities from international integration and the Fourth Industrial Revolution; renew traditional growth drivers, effectively exploit new growth drivers; and participate in emerging trends and fields in the world.

What recommendations, proposals, advice and suggestions do entrepreneurs and enterprises have for the Government and the Prime Minister to continue to improve institutions, mechanisms and policies to better support enterprises; promote administrative reform, further improve the investment and business environment; develop national enterprises, large-scale enterprises, reaching the world; train and foster an increasingly strong team of entrepreneurs with full qualities and prestige; arouse the spirit of entrepreneurship in the whole society, especially in new fields and among the young generation.

Along with that, how can entrepreneurs and businesses continue to participate more actively in fulfilling social responsibilities, ensuring social security, helping the disadvantaged, people in difficult circumstances, remote areas, border areas, and islands./.
