Artists Thu Trang and Tien Luat played the roles of a mother and father who unintentionally became "evil" parents when they forced their children to go to a university that was not their wish. "Obsessed" is a dramatic story that reflects a topic that society is interested in, which is that parents, because they are too ambitious, put heavy pressure on their children, leading to unpredictable consequences when their children themselves become victims of their academic achievements.

Parents forcing their children to study day and night according to their wishes, just to show off to society how good their children are, can lead to coercion, causing serious consequences that artists must sound the alarm.

The play "Obsession" creates space for young faces

When the current stage of drama is increasingly rare for scripts that deal with thorny issues of life and social concerns, the fact that the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association invested in a work that won a high prize at the Script Writing Camp is an optimistic signal, directing theatrical works to convey positive messages, thereby having a good impact on social life.

The play not only warns parents who are too busy chasing their children's achievements and forcing them to fulfill their dreams, but also shows that the deviation in educating children is an alarming problem.

Through the play "Obsession", the hope of director and People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau is that the audience will find the answer to the question of whether or not to force children to study too much?

Actress Kieu Diem (as Anh Duong) and Hoang Phi (as Khai) in the play "Obsession"

The story of a girl named Anh Duong, who is about to enter college, clearly illustrates the consequences of children becoming victims of their parents' wrong education.

Artists Thu Trang and Tien Luat worked very well with the actors: Hoang Phi, Kieu Diem, Minh Du, Phuc Zelo, Tat Dieu Hang, Lam Nguyen... to tell an emotional dramatic story.

The music of People's Artist Ho Van Thanh created many emotional levels for the audience to both love and hate the characters of Thu Trang and Tien Luat, and at the same time feel sorry for the circumstances of the two characters Anh Duong (Kieu Diem) and Khai (Hoang Phi).

Besides the quiet moments and sublime emotions, there is also charming and humorous laughter through the free-spirited performances of Thu Trang, Tien Luat and Minh Du. All three have been a solid support for the main actors to develop their creativity.

Hoang Phi plays the role of Khai very realistically, subtly expressing the actions and dialogue of the gangster character. Meanwhile, young actress Kieu Diem is considered promising when she gives the character Anh Duong an innocent, natural and also full of emotions that makes the audience sob.

Very impressive stage treatment by director People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau in the play "Obsession"

Through this play, viewers will see themselves in each character, thereby encouraging their children to study in the most positive ways, combined with a scientific and appropriate diet and entertainment regimen.

Author Dang Thanh Nga has put into the script the thoughts that many parents of students and students today are trying to identify correctly. Learning is to help children experience everything and then choose what they like and what is suitable.

Avoid falling into a situation like little Anh Duong who wants to study fine arts, but her parents want her to go to the University of Foreign Economic Relations, while she doesn't like this major.

Because of that, the girl had no passion for studying, and was struggling with fatigue until she met Khai - a young man who also had a dream of studying and pleasing his father, but then life pushed him down to become a drug trafficker.

The emotional performances in the play "Obsession"

Children's academic performance is something that every parent values and wants their children to study well, to be successful in the future, and to have a position in society. However, wishing and fulfilling parents' wishes does not mean forcing their children to live according to their own wishes.

If we want students to develop comprehensively, we must let them integrate into the community, experience life, learn life skills, and know how to distinguish between good and bad people in order to behave appropriately...

And the artists and actors participating in the play "Obsession" through the beautiful staging of People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau promise to find deep sympathy from the audience when coming to the World Youth Theater.
