On January 28, the Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Project Management Board said it had just sent a document requesting the provincial Department of Transport to report to the Provincial People's Committee to agree to allow the entire Prenn Pass to open to traffic before the 2024 Lunar New Year.
Prenn Pass after being expanded
Accordingly, after checking the traffic conditions of the section from Prenn Bridge to Dantala Waterfall under the project to upgrade and expand Prenn Pass, Da Lat City (Lam Dong), the Traffic Project Management Board found that the section from Prenn Bridge to Dantala Waterfall has been completed, ensuring the quality of the project in accordance with regulations and the conditions of traffic safety and lighting on the route according to the approved construction drawing design documents have been completed (the remaining Km column painting, due to the lack of agreement on the painting method for road names and routes for easy management and exploitation).
Prenn Pass is expanded to reduce traffic congestion during holidays and Tet when many tourists come to Da Lat.
The remaining items are solutions to further enhance traffic safety, so traffic safety and lighting conditions on the route also ensure safety for the entire route to open before Tet 2024 with an operating speed of 60km/h in the immediate period to serve the travel needs of people and tourists.
As Thanh Nien reported, the project to upgrade and expand Prenn Pass from 2 to 4 lanes, with a total length of 7.36 km, with a total investment of over 552 billion VND, started on February 10, 2023.
February 10, 2023, construction of Prenn Pass expansion begins
On December 14, 2023, the section from Dantala Waterfall to the end of the route was opened to traffic. The 4.48 km section from Prenn Bridge to Dantala Waterfall was temporarily opened to traffic from December 29, 2023 to January 2, 2024 to serve the New Year and the 130th anniversary of the establishment and development of Da Lat City.
The opening of the entire Prenn Pass before Tet creates convenience for people and tourists to travel after 1 year of temporary closure for upgrading and expansion.
