On the afternoon of October 29, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company announced that the North-South railway section through Sa Lung - Tien An section (Vinh Linh, Quang Tri) has opened to traffic.
At 3:30 p.m. on October 29, the section from Km 587+725 to Km 589+00 was reopened to test run 2 freight trains. At 5:05 p.m., the railway company reopened the section (Sa Lung - Tien An section) from Km 587+725 to Km 589+00 to run trains at a speed of 5 km/h.
North-South railway damaged by storm No. 6 (Trami)
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 6 (storm Trami), the section of road from Km 587+725 to Km 589+00 and the stations and switches at Sa Lung station were flooded, affecting the railway infrastructure and disrupting train operations.
After the water receded and the scene was inspected, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company determined that from Km587+300 - Km588+00, rocks were drifting to the left; the section from Km588+525 - Km589+00 was completely washed away, eroding the roadbed.
After the incident occurred, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company focused on human resources, machinery and equipment to fix the above damage.
