According to information from Vietnam Airlines, from today, January 24 to January 28, in the North, Central and Central Highlands, there is often dense fog, limiting visibility and affecting takeoffs and landings at Noi Bai (Hanoi), Cat Bi (Hai Phong), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Vinh, Phu Bai (Hue), Phu Cat (Quy Nhon) and Pleiku airports, so the airline's operation plan may have to change according to the assessment of the level of impact of the weather to ensure flight safety.
Vietnam Airlines said that absolute safety for passengers and flights is always Vietnam Airlines' top priority.
To ensure the rights of affected passengers, for flights delayed for 2 hours or more, Vietnam Airlines serves passengers meals in the waiting room. For flights forced to divert, Vietnam Airlines supports the cost of the road from the alternate airport to the intended airport of landing.
Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers planning to arrive or depart from airports in the Northern, Central and Central Highlands regions during this time should regularly monitor and update weather conditions and flight schedule information on the website www.vietnamairlines.com and Vietnam Airlines Facebook Fanpage.
From January 13 to February 12, 2025, Vietnam Airlines plans to operate more than 1,500 night flights, providing nearly 300,000 seats during the peak Tet period. Compared to the peak Tet period of 2024, the number of night flights during Tet 2025 will increase by 88%.
Night flights depart after 9pm and before 5am the following day, focusing on routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Vinh, Hue, etc. The airline will use Airbus A321 and Airbus A320neo aircraft for most of these routes. For the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route, the airline will also use modern wide-body aircraft Airbus A350 and Boeing 787.
