DW. The German government has called on Israel to protect Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, amid increased violence in the territory since Hamas began its offensive more than three weeks ago.
ZDF. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said the possibility of a new war in Europe is no longer unthinkable and German society must adapt to this reality.
AFP. The EU plans to invest 6 billion euros ($6.35 billion) to help Western Balkan countries and territories carry out reforms needed to integrate with the bloc, European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen said.
TASS. Russia remains ready for dialogue to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum on October 30.

YONHAP. US Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim held video talks with his Chinese counterpart Liu Xiaoming to discuss military cooperation between North Korea and Russia , as well as Beijing's repatriation of North Korean defectors.
BLOOMBERG. The United States and Japan are considering holding talks between their foreign and economic ministers in San Francisco in November, on the sidelines of the APEC ministerial meeting.
CNN. The US and South Korea conducted the " Violent Defense " air force exercise from October 30 to November 3 with the participation of 130 fighter jets to simulate wartime operations lasting 24 hours.
AP. El Salvador President Nayib Bukele has declared a state of emergency as Hurricane Pilar is expected to bring heavy rain and flooding along the country's coast over the next 48 hours.

AP. Germany wants to invest in Nigeria's vital gas and mineral sector, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said at a joint press conference with host country President Bola Tinubu in the capital Abuja.
